Original 1949 Columbia 10” LP “Teddy Wilson-Billie Holiday” (Columbia CL-6040).
This very early LP also features a great lineup of other jazz greats including Benny Goodman, Roy Eldridge, Ben Webster, Cozy Cole, Lester Young, Buck Clayton, Joe Jones and Walter Paige.
The tracklist is: Miss Brown To You/I Wished On The Moon/What A Little Moonlight Can Do/If You Were Mine/I Must Have That Man!/Foolin’ Myself/Easy Living/When You’re Smiling.
The LP retains most of the original gloss and the performances are crisp and clear bearing in mind that these tracks were made before the advent of modern recording equipment and techniques. There are a few light marks and sleeve scuffs and you should expect some surface noise and a click now and then but it is not at all overwhelming. The cover, with excellent liner notes, is near mint.
