Description

An original 1st press of CENTAURI on UK Polydor from 1971. Matrix A1/B2. The vinyl comes housed in an original fully laminated James Upton cover. We also have an original 'plastic bag warning' inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In super condition having seen only light use. Surfaces retain a lot of the original lustre and there's no sign of markings. Even the spindle holes exhibit a bit of leftover wax. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Now, remember this ambient trippy lowkey music. True original copies are now weighing in at 50years of age [yikes!]. So, it is unlikely many copies are going to play perfectly clean - which is what you need for this sort of release. I'm pleased to report that this copy is preserved like no other. Perfect sonics and reproduction. And that's into the high registries which are the first to deteriorate. Clean as the proverbial whistle - into the mega fussiest sections. A couple of crackles in a couple of isolated spots per side. Otherwise perfect. Highly recommended.
Cover (Ex-) In very smart shape given the vintage. Lovely clean front and rear - just a touch of laminate lift against the spine as would be difficult to avoid. A tiny sticker removal mark top right on the rear. Minimal edge wear and sharp openings. Spine fully intact - with light ageing. The cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (ex-) Lightest ageing. Bag present. No splits.
