Its purpose and goals are set forth in this creed: We commit ourselves to enter into the beat of now with God's power in us. We accept the problems of the seen" of isolated lives, racial prejudice, hatred, fear, eroding values, and the pains of other people as personal challenges. We will be an active group that works to heal all wounds. God calls us to take seriously Jesus' message, by DOING as well as TALKING. We commit ourselves to knowing the barriers of fear and hate that separate people. We want to let God loose through us on an unsuspecting world. God help us to open our eyes to our brothers' needs. We commit ourselves fully to sharing God's Word. We will be wit- nesses by who we are as well as by what we say. We pledge ourselves to be honest, open, and real, to make a witness in song and actions, so that those that see or hear us will know that Jesus Christ is our first love.
