TYRANNOSAURUS REX - A BEARD OF STARS

A very nice condition copy of this 1970 Tyrannosaurus Rex/Marc Bolan gem with impressive audio quality and original insert

Year/Label :  UK Regal Zonophone 1970
Label number :  STEREO SLRZ 1013
Matrix numbers :  Y C A R X  65 - 1U  /   Y C A R X  66 - 3U
Stampers :  1  A  /   1  1.1
1970 UK 1st pressing with very good plus (VG+) condition vinyl : each side has retained a jet black sheen and it is only with close inspection under a bright light that a few small wispy hairlines and faint paper scuff marks come into view - there is nothing feelable or obviously below the surface though a 1cm hairline on side 1, though non-feelable, does nonetheless result in some very light background rotational clicking during the last half of A1 and does spill over onto A2 for about a minute - you will need to listen carefully to notice the clicking, however; excellent (EX) condition labels...unmarked except for some very light spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label;  very good plus (VG+) condition Garrod & Lofthouse outer sleeve, fully laminated with all colours, art work, and text remaining in rich, vibrant condition with perfect definition...each edge remains firm and unscuffed apart from the top and bottom of the spine where there is a little light scuffing at each end; the corners remain nicely defined right angles (despite a small 3cm diagonal crease at the top right corner) with just a little rubbing on each, there are some 1cm laminate creases (surface only) adjacent to the spine on each of the front and reverse sides and in the opening side corners there is just a small area of laminate lift in each. Not perfect then but still highly presentable and remaining as iconic as ever. Excellent minus (EX-) STEREO audio quality with no no skips, repeats, jumps, or sticks and just the aforementioned light clicks on A1/A2 and the very occasional light click, no doubt due to the odd speck of dust in the grooves through decades of storage. There is no distortion and the tone and clarity is excellent throughout. Any background crackle is at an absolute minimum and very occasional (a couple of the quieter moments it's just detectable, and again during the side 2 run-off), but in summary this copy remains a great listen.  Comes with original excellent condition lyric inner and "MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN" plain white inner sleeve, again in great condition with no seam splits, no age disclouration and barely any creasing.
In my humble opinion this (along with "Unicorn") remain as Marc Bolan's most underrated achievement - essential for any Marc Bolan vinyl collection.   POSTAGE COSTS :

For the UK £5 using Royal Mail 1st class signed for ;

for continental Europe £14 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for,

and for the rest of the world £21 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.

I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
