Description
O.K. Collectors......from one of the VERY few real (read: vinyl ONLY) record stores left (been doing this for over 40 years and collecting for 60 so rest assured you're not dealing with a wannabe) specializing in, but not limited to the real music of the 50's and 60's (not much punk, not much heavy metal and no (C)rap), but feel free to ask. I have over 52000 pieces in stock so if you're looking for anything in particular now would be THE opportune time as an understatement to let me know before the highest bidder buys my store or my collection. Any questions??? Feel free to call or come by my store American Pie Records in Ventura, Calif. Slightly off the beaten path but well worth it!!! The store for those who know and appreciate the difference of vinyl therefore representing the true music cognoscenti. Thanx for looking and good luck!! Stay tuned for more!
First up between buyers who know and appreciate the difference of vinyl (and keep watching.....I'll be listing some VERY rare pieces this week).....Trying to get a couple more LPs in between the rain and clients then I'll go with a coupla of rare 45s. Here are two VERY good surf LPs for your listening edification and enjoyment. Knowing that opinions are like belly buttons and all that, I have in my collection or have heard every LP listed in Dailey's excellent Discography of Surf Music so I say this with authority that I recommend them. Lloyd Thaxton Goes Surfing with the Challengers (Vault 101 from 1963)) is a West Coast only release and if you didn't grow up here, means nothing except a different cover and back cover liner notes. Has initials on rear cover as you can see. It is a Mono recording and on black vinyl (the colored vinyl is MUCH more!!!). This one has LOTS of "scuffs", but played REALLY good (read: looks like hell, plays GREAT!!!!). Surprised ME!!! The top right and bottom left of cover is taped. The Rhythm Rockers LP (Challenge 617 from 1963) is just the opposite condition wise...EASilly VG+ LP and cover. Two MUST HAVE for surf collectors!!!!! This is part of a really expensive and extensive collection I bought last month with some SUPER rare pieces in there and some soundtracks from the world premieres of movies. I don't have the time to play all of them and I need some quick money back since I'm supposed to be done buying before the sale of the store. Damned fine piece and good luck ever finding this at this good a price. Hell...try finding one in this good of shape for this good of price PERiod!!! And stay tuned for MUCH more good "stuff"!!!! I'd sell for less but for the e-bay and card fees. Again....any questions feel free to e-mail or call. And stay tuned for more listings, music lovers!!!!. Pictured as best I can. Remember I'm a record dealer, not a photographer (LOL).
NO PAYPAL!!!! Payment only through my store via MC and Visa according to e-bay policy. Free shipping only in U.S. and Payment expected with three days of auction closing. Buyer pays insurance if desired, but I'll pay the tracking in the U.S. Remember if you're going to make a bid and FOLLOW THROUGH, read: be honest (are you reading this Dick(head) in Las Vegas???). I've been around long enough to not suffer fools.
If in the area, stop by. Off the beaten path, but well worth the effort!!!!!! Good luck and good listening!!!!
