Description

Originally released in 1950, the "Night Beat" box, with cover art by a 22-year-old Andy Warhol, was a promotional 3-EP box set sent to radio companies to garner sponsors for a radio show starring Frank Lovejoy as a Chicago journalist reporting the city's crime.
Only one "night Beat" box is known to exist.

At about the same time, Andy Warhol was commissioned by NBC to design the cover for a proposed new EP-box set entitled "Voices and Events" to advertise a series of NBC radio shows.
No copy of this release has yet come to light. Like the RCA proposed "Progressive Piano" EP, only a lithograph of the design exists in The Warhol Museum and was shown at the "Adman - Warhol BEfore Pop" exhibition in Australia earlier this year.

So, in the true spirit of Warhol and Elaine Sturtevant, I have re-created the box using original 1950s EP boxes and a newly printed cover slick in a limited edition of TEN boxes.
