This double LP features the first serious roundup of rare soul from our neck of the woods, and it's been a long time coming! Culled from rare 45s, unreleased tapes and deep private release LP tracks, the Secret Stash guys have come up with their first absolute must-have release. Before Prince put Minneapolis on the map, these are the groups that laid the foundation for the scene. This immediately-sold out collectors edition of 500 numbered copies not only comes with a very informative 32-page newspaper with very detailed notes about the artists represented (as does the regular edition), but is also on transparent purple vinyl (not black, like the standard issue). But by far the best reason for owning the deluxe package is the inclusion of a 45 featuring two non-lp tracks by the superb vocal group the Valdons, which is NOT available on the readily-available (for now) double lp. An instrumental version of their great "All Day Long" is here coupled with a fantastic take on Ben E. King's "I Who Have Nothing" on the A-side. The 45 seals the deal for making the collector's edition the only way to go on this great comp.

This copy is still sealed and in mint condition. It will surely become a collectors item as the word spreads.

About Us
Treehouse Records is the current incarnation of a series of storied record stores at the corner of 26th and Lyndale in south Minneapolis. After becoming Oar Folkjokeopus in 1972 it quickly emerged as the epicenter for the burgeoning 70s and 80s Twin Cities punk scene. Renamed Treehouse in 2001 after the Oar Folk manager took over the business, the store remains a staple of the Twin Cities underground/independent music community and the best source for used vinyl in the state.
