Original UK 7" EP released on Zip Records in 1979. Comes in a picture sleeve plus insert. Edition of 1000 - there were many different cover designs, each handmade in small limited editions. This sleeve is by Gerry, signed and numbered number 10 of 25.

Twilight Zoners (1978 - 1981) were a British Post-Punk band, formed in London, England.

Vocalist and founding member Glenn Carmichael (aka Gordon Twilight) emerged from Cardiff, Wales during the punk explosion, having seen most of the bands during 1976 and 1977 including Sex Pistols, The Clash, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Buzzcocks, Subway Sect, etc. In March 1978, when Punk was in its death throes, an old friend, John McGowan (aka Johny Limbo), asked Glenn if he’d be interested in forming a band. With John squatting in Whitechapel, Glenn moved down to London and Twilight Zoners were born.

Their first EP Zero Zero One - usually called the Hospital EP - was released in 1979 on their own ZIP (Zoners in Plastic) label, with a line up comprising Gordon Twilight (Glenn Carmichael) - vocals, Johny Limbo (John McGowan) - guitar, Tom Dixon - bass, and William Pew-Evans - drums, with future A Certain Ratio member Tillie (Martha Tilson) providing backing vocals alongside someone named Gerry. There were 45 different cover designs for the EP, which appeared in a limited pressing of 1,000.

The second Twilight Zoners single, Brighton Rock b/w Diversion was released in 1980, with a front cover showing a still from the eponymous 1947 film directed by John Boulting.

1980 also saw the appearance of Occult Chemistry, an experimental post-punk side-project led by Martha Tilson and financed by Glenn Carmichael. The group released a single self-titled EP that year, featuring Tilson and Carmichael alongside Twilight Zoners alumni Tom Dixon and Justin Langlands, as well as flautist Selima Guirey.

Later in 1980, each of the Twilight Zoners returned to more familiar territory, recording and releasing the band’s debut album, In the Land of Oz, a dark, brooding set of Post-Punk freakouts that featured a slurred, spaced-out cover of the Serge Gainsbourg/Jane Birkin classic, Je t’aime… moi non plus.

Due to Johny’s mental state and Glenn’s escalating drug encounters Twilight Zoners disappeared from view in 1981.

We offer combined shipping on all LPs / 12" Vinyls: our shipping rates are listed above. HOWEVER shipping packages that weigh more than 2kg is VERY expensive. Therefore we can only offer combined shipping up to a maximum of SEVEN (7) LPs / 12" vinyls. Any extra purchases will be invoiced, packaged and shipped separately.

Sorry but I am no longer willing to carry combined transactions beyond two weeks of auctions (see below).

PAYMENT

I would appreciate payment within seven days of the auction’s end. If you want to bid on more of my auctions ending a week later please inform me. I will wait and issue a combined invoice at the close of the second week’s auctions.

However, I am no longer willing to carry combined transactions beyond two weeks and in these cases would appreciate payment promptly after the close of the second week’s auctions.

I am sorry to have to introduce these measures – I always try to be patient and allow buyers to bid on extra auctions and / or delay payment. Unfortunately some buyers have been stretching out transactions to unacceptable lengths so I feel I have no option but to limit ‘carried over’ transactions to two weeks.
