EbayEinstellenTilo T.S.O.L. - Dance With Me LP 1981 USA TEST PRESSING for UNRELEASED 10 SONG VERSION  (USA 1981 - Frontier Records - FLP 1004 )

Ultrarare 10 SONG VINYL LP TEST PRESSING for classic 1981 debut album release by legendary US Punk / Hardcore / Goth Rock band from Huntington Beach / California on Frontier Records, manufactured by the Alco Co.  This - previously undiscovered - TEST PRESSING CONTAINS ONLY 10 SONGS, instead of the 11 song version that was eventually commercially released to the public in summer 1981.
This 10 SONG VERSION of the album WAS NEVER COMMERCIALLY PRESSED AND/OR AVAILABLE!!
Both sides of this version contain only 5 songs. "LOVE STORY" is COMPLETELY MISSING - it was later added as sixth track to Side A of the subsequent 11 song version. The record comes with special Alco Test Pressing labels (see pictures) and NO sleeve."TSOL" has been written with ballpoint pen on the A-Side label (see picture 1). The matrix etchings are "FLP-1004-A" for Side A & "FLP-1004-B". The later commercially released 11 song version has completely different matrix etchings ("FLP-1004-A  RE-1  JACK IS COMEDY" for Side A & "FLP-1004-B  RE-1  I WON!" for Side B)

NOTE: this 10 song test pressing version contains exactly the same recordings and mixes of the songs as the ones that were later commercially released on the 11 song version. This test pressing copy here comes from a former acquaintance of the band/label and no one seems to really remember whether this 10 song version was produced deliberately or merely by mistake/accident. This version has since been largely forgotten about and this is the first ever copy of this version to turn up publicly. It is highly likely that there were no more than 3-5 copies produced at the time (as was the standard number for test pressings) and that this copy here might be the only one that has actually survived. It's a very very rare item in any case!!

Grading System / How is the condition of used sound carriers, DVDs, etc. graded?

The condition grading system for used sound carriers, DVDs, etc. is based upon the internationally accepted anglo-american grading system provided by „Goldmine“ or „Record Collector“ magazine

Vinyl & Sleeve grading system

SS/STILL SEALED - the record is still factory sealed and has never been removed from it's sleeve

NM/NEAR MINT - (the highest grade - except for STILL SEALED) vinyl is visually perfect - no scratches or marks at all. Cover is like new

EX+/EXCELLENT PLUS - cover or record have just a few faint paper sleeve marks or completely insignificant hairline scratches that do not affect play at all - visually they should be barely noticeable

EX/EXCELLENT - record has been handled or played carefully, and may have some light paper or spindle marks or other very minor flaws that really shouldn't affect play at all. It will still play clean with very little or no surface noise. Minor signs of wear on the cover - but nothing significant

VG+/VERY GOOD PLUS - record has been played, has some light / hairline-type scratches - but nothing that stands out without close inspection or that can be felt (ie, nothing deep). Really should only be noticed between songs or possibly in very quiet spots and then should not be distracting or continuous. Cover could have light ringwear, small tears , scuffs or small seam splits

VG/VERY GOOD - record has been well played, could have some scratches, perhaps some minor groove wear. There will be some surface noise, occasional clicks or pops - but no skips or jumps. Cover has been well used. Possible tears, seam splits or scuffs

Unlike many other sellers I rarely grade a used item as „mint“. Usually the items are in EX (excellent) to VG (very good) condition.

I usually do not sell records in less than VG condition.

I believe that I grade fair & correct as my feedback shows:

customers are satisfied and can deal with my grading system

Last but not least: I'm a collector myself and follow the golden rule: treat your customers as you wish to be treated yourself and there'll be no trouble

If still in doubt: please feel free to contact me ahead of buying and / or bidding and I gladly explain how the grading system works and can comment specifically on the individual item in question
