Another from my personal collection, and very rarely seen the earliest 4th album to be released in the UK by T Rex! Also the earliest STEREO UK PRESSING! (please note! there were no mono pressings of this album) Especially in this stunning top top condition throughout! The vinyl was played at loud volume prior to listing on a top system, absolutely superb throughout  probably the best that I have heard  of this album cristal clear and very vibrant incredible to find after  42  years like this!  The vinyl features the earliest stampers that I have ever seen and pressed from the earliest masters, look -3u & -1u Matrix endings and incredibly earliest 1to1 mother stampers Side 1. ''1'' ''G'' and ''1'' ''R''  Try to find an earlier copy in this condition it will be impossible!

A Beard of Stars is the fourth album by Tyrannosaurus Rex, comprising Marc Bolan (vocals, guitar,organ,bass) and Mickey Finn (percussion). It was released in March 1970. It is notable for the beginning of Bolan using electric instruments on the T.Rex albums!.

The Vinyl

This is the original heavy thick and chunky type of vinyl with deep grooves!(only found on these early pressings!) The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and initiall inspection still retains its original super glossy apearence! Looking at the vinyl under strong light it is hard for me to even see a blemish on the playing surface in fact i can't see any needle scratches at all,, at least nothing that would cause any loud clicks or pops!

The Audio Quality

I have played this through track for track as usual at very loud volume on a top system two times prior to this listing! The audio is awesome! Cristal clear and vibrant all of the way through with (no) signs of any distortion or that this has been overplayed at all, probably one of the best copies that I have seen or heard! Very Very rare for a T Rex vinyl that is an incredible 38 years old! Please noteI heard no major problems during the audio what so ever ! I was quite amazed!  The audio is absolutely superbe i dought you would find a better sounding copy!!!.   THIS AUDIO IS AWESOME FOR AN ORIGINAL STEREO RECORDING SO RARE TO FIND LIKE THIS INDEED!! LOVELY RICH AUDIO ON ALL FREQUENCIES!  (no) loud clicks ,pops,No distortion and certainlty (no) jumps or skips! In my opinion the vinyl has just minimal plays only and certainly not been overplayed! I would class myself as highly critical Please look at my completed listings of records that I have sold of this calaber and you will see that i normally get it right! I would grade the audio at least excellent plus to near mint through out!

Please note! I always make this disclaimer!! I have given my honest opinion when describing the audio quality as i hear it! ,, after playing the album on a top system at very loud volume! Although I never heard any major problems other than previously described,,,, Please allow for the odd static ticks\crackle here and there (not consistant throughout the audio!!!! Please remember that this is a genuine 42 year old vinyl,, that would have originally  been played on a 42 year old system!

Points to note! This album has been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 35 years! ,, and this would benefit from a constant clean before each play! From my personal experiance a build up of dirt and dust in the grooves from laying dormant causes light static crackle and constant cleaning subsequently reduces this and greatly enhances the audio quality!  

The labels

Regal Zonophone labels (only 1st press)   made in Gt Britain is featured (UK presing)! Very few  spider marks can be seen angled to the light   show together with the awesom audio that this has not been overplayed at all ! and in fact hardly ever played in my opinion! little if no spindle ware ! The hole is perfectly round!

The cover

This is the original fully laminated  1st press cover!  firstly this is strong and straight the laminate is glossy shows very very minor minimal creases to the front near spine edges only to mention and not really noticed unless looked for in my opinion. (no) splits or tares at all in fact in generall  light storageware to talk of, minor rubbing/ringware at the rear again not noticed unless looked for. The writing at the spine can be read clearly! This is the original lovely and straight. graded at least excellent to excellent plus!

This is the original insert minor light corner crease only to mention nice and clean.
