THIS IS AN EXTREMELY RARE SET OF CORRESPONDING NUMBERED T.REX LIMITED EDITION 7” SINGLES THAT WERE GIVEN AWAY TO A HANDFUL OF RECORD INDUSTRY PEOPLE.
In 2007 I was working for the Demon Music Group who controlled part of the T.Rex catalogue. To mark the 30th anniversary of Marc Bolan's sad death the company decided to release these 3 classic singles in consecutive weeks in September as limited 7”’ers in coloured vinyl form as listed above. They sold out immediately and became very collectable over night. Each featured a different and sought after b-side to the ones they originally had, again as listed above.
The first 30 of each run of these singles was sent to Demon so as to be able to create 30 unique ‘same numbered sets’ i.e. all 3 records in each set bear the same number. These were then given away as prizes for competitions, to supporters and company staff.
This is one of those rare sets and is number 18. All 3 records have that limited edition number and all are un-played and in MINT condition. Please note as my camera has packed up this afternoon I have had to use pictures of the same records from the web but these obviously do not show the correct number (18) on each. Apologies.
I am in the process of getting ready to move house and in a bid to make the move easier I will be auctioning more T.Rex/Marc Bolan items over the coming months alongside many other things from my private collection.
Grading:
Labels – All the labels are in PERFECT condition and there is NO wear and NO spindle marks at all. I would grade these as MINT.
Vinyl – All these coloured vinyls are un-played and using Record Collector magazine guidelines I would grade them as MINT. I used to write for the magazine and try and adhere to their high standards regarding grading at all times.
Single sleeve – All the sleeves are as new and I would grade them as MINT.
As there are only 30 of these sets they do not come up for sale very often. Good luck bidding.
Payment: Cheques and direct bank transfers are preferred and PayPal is accepted too. However bidders must accept the associated, non-negotiable shipping terms as stated below in "Shipping".
Shipping: Items I sell are carefully packaged to ensure they arrive at their destination in the condition they leave me.
I do not accept any responsibility for payments/items lost or damaged and not covered by adequate insurance. If you do insist on using PayPal through the eBay checkout, the consequence of PayPal's rigid conditions is that all items must be sent by an adequately insured shipping method with proof of delivery. For UK buyers this means Recorded Delivery up to a value of £46 and Special Delivery for anything of a higher value. For overseas buyers it will mean International Signed-For Airmail for any value.
