Traffic were one of the premier architects of the acid rock movement in the 1960s and blossomed further into one of the most important super groups of the '70s. Their recordings are the soundtrack to a generation of music enthusiasts that continues to this day and will forever stand the test of time. In 1968, the legendary founding members Stevie Winwood, Dave Mason, Jim Capaldi and Chris Wood sojourned on after a smash debut with Dear Mr. Fantasy and continued the winning streak with the groundbreaking self-titled classic Traffic.

Known for their superior progressive rock, jazz and pop influences, the multi-faceted music of this LP offers non-stop entertainment which truly illustrates the legendary talent of this English quartet. Whether standout tracks from the pens of Dave Mason like the classic rock smash anthem "Feelin’ Alright?" or the prog-rock masterpiece Winwood and Capaldi’s classic "Forty Thousand Headmen," the Traffic album has surely earned its currency over the years as one of the more important albums of the classic rock era.

A SONIC WORK OF ART. This Limited Edition gem    MR. FANTASY - Led by the immensely talented Steve Winwood & Dave Mason, the magnificent rock band Traffic said hello to the world with their 1967 debut album, "Mr. Fantasy," a delicious psychedelic supper of flower-power pop/rock (the weird cover photo pretty much says it all about the feel of this album). The organ is prominent throughout, the sitar makes an appearance on a few songs, and there's also a few spoken passages as well. In other words, this is a totally far out record, man! Many Traffic classics populate this disc: the 60's pop of "Heaven Is In Your Mind," the gorgeous ballad "No Face, No Name, No Number," the Traffic signature rockers "Dear Mr. Fantasy," "Dealer," and "Colored Rain," and the groovy instrumental "Giving To You." The drunken ragtime piano number "Berkshire Poppies" is a real hoot, as are the psychedelic pop of "House For Everyone" (complete with wind-up clock intro) and the trippy "Utterly Simple."   Track Listings 1.
