Description
This is a very rare UK NEW WAVE OF BRITISH HEAVY METAL / NWOBHM singles by the band TRACTOR from 1977, this is the ORIGINAL pressing and I have only seen a small number of copies for sale in the last 32 years. And this copy also comes with the impossibly rare INSERT of which ONLY a handful of copies came with, and this copy also seem to come with what looks like the original die cut cardboard sleeve, with hand written band information, and numbered 511 out of a thousand pressed which I have never seen before !!! AN ORIGINAL, AND A MUST !!!.
This single is not even mentioned in the NEW WAVE OF BRITISH HEAVY METAL ENCYCLOPEDIA (probably because it SO obscure, but is mentioned and was given a high mark for rarity in Mario Panciera's excellent book 45 revolutions. It is one of the earliest, and best examples of UK first wave NEW WAVE OF BRITISH HEAVY METAL at it's best, LOUD GUITARS, GUITAR SOLOS, AND WAILING VOCALS on both sides, A MUST FOR COLLECTORS.
The single also crosses over to PUNK collectors as one of the tracks was featured on the 1977 PUNK compilation "STREETS" (although this is NWOBHM sound), and also members from the band went to form the PUNK band ACCIDENTS ON THE EAST LANCS a couple of years later, so hence the PUNK interest.
The single came out on the obscure private label CARGO RECORDS, which was owned by the famous CARGO STDIOS which was a recording studio for many rare privately pressed PUNK / NWOBHM singles, catalogue number CRS 002, a rare find and an ORIGINAL pressing !!!
The songs are: NO MORE ROCK'N'ROLL / NORTHERN CITY.
This single never came in a picture sleeve, but as mentioned this opy comes with the impossibly rare INSERT in EX+ condition, and The condition of the VINYL is EX++ (PLAYED ONCE !!!), ORIGINAL HAND NUMBERED / WRITTEN die cut cardboard sleeve in EX++ condition.
You will not find a better condition of this NEW WAVE OF BRITISH HEAVY METAL single, of which only 500 or less copies were ever made.
