Description
In 1969 before Woodstock and the start of the hippie movement’s collapse I was living in Modesto California and it was just a little over an hours drive to the Bay Area. One of my best friends lived in Oakland and we would go to the Fillmore from 1966 to 1969 whenever we could. When I came across this album I could tell what kind of music it would be before I even listened to it. Some Funky soul music featuring horn solos etc. Boy was I surprised at the quality of the song writing and the music itself. I was right about the kind of music but didn’t expect it to be so good. If you want an original copy of this album and not a reissue or CD this is the place to find it. All the albums from Rita’s Rare Finds are still like new and original. Two of my favorite tracks on this album are “Knock yourself Out, Sparkling in the sand, and Back on the streets again.” OOP’S that’s 3 songs. This was the small window of a few short years that brought forth a lot of new different music styles that no one had ever heard before but as far as funky soul there were only a few I thought were inventive and new, and this is one band that has lasted and put out many good albums after East Bay Grease, their first. Don’t miss out on this one copy of the original Tower Of Power. Thanks for your support.
