Tambu is the ninth studio album by the American rock band Toto. It was released by Sony Records in May 1995. Tambu has sold 600,000 copies worldwide. It is the group's first album since Jeff Porcaro's death in 1992. The album contains the single "I Will Remember", which could not be chartered in the US, but the band's first hit in the UK since "I Won ' t hold back "twelve years ago. [1]

Tambu was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Engineered Album Non-Classical in 1997. [2] [3]

AllMusic's review reflected the album as an important change of direction for Toto and commented on the tortured and extremely vague philosophical texts and the focused, bluesy musical style. They found Steve Lukather's appearance as chief singer of such a quality that it was confusing why he hadn't gotten the role earlier, and concluded: "You couldn't say the result was achieved, but Tambu suggested that Toto started a new person and musical journey that could lead in an interesting direction. Like a patient new to psychoanalysis, Toto went on at length (the album runs over 70 minutes), and without much coherence, about "the pain of my lifetime" and "a world of blind ambition," among other things.
