Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Super Rare & sought after ... Original first 1971 pressing released on the famously collected "Nasco" label ( same label as monster rarities "Felt," "Whalefeathers," "Electric Toilet"), the much sought-after In A King’s Dream is essentially solid prog rock, doused with complex rhythms and moves injected by psych elements, and overtly progressive, especially when the whirling flute is in the forefront. Westfauster deliver rich use of their instruments, especially in the keyboards, transcending a dreamlike feel to their interesting work.

The early UK progressive styles of King Crimson, Cressida and The Beatles later albums are easy to notice although Westfauster didn't focus on the sound of the British prog scene entirely. Complex structures and psychedelic enhancements flow in and out of 'In A King's Dream' and the lead and background vocals blend beautifully throughout, while the flautist flutters over the well rehersed self compositions and well defined passages that truly work giving the album a very light and airy feel. 'Where Are You', 'Blind Man' and the title track ("In A Kings Dream") are brilliant with top levels heading out to the wonderful magical mystery carpet rides of 'Sunny Day' and 'Low Sun' which are ever so Beatle-ish and nothing short of fantastic!

WESTFAUSTER may sound like the quintessential English progressive rock band but, in fact, Westfauster hailed from the rust belt, Cincinnati to be precise. A guitar-free, keyboard/flute led trio, the band did encompass a variety of keyboards from harpsichord to Moog synthesizer, and the flute work is exceptional within their multi-instrumental ranks. Blissful jazzy edges ripples through the epic "Everyday," one of a clutch of flute-led numbers on the set. On that song, it's twinned with piano and organ; on "Blind Man's Epitaph" the flute flutters and flies amidst the harpsichord and choral vocals; and the harpsichord itself is showcased again on the Beatles-esque "Low Sun." In contrast, the title track, the album's other epic number, is resplendent with smoky reeds, the darker, more majestic flip of the breezier, lighter "Everyday." All three bandmembers obviously had some musical training, and it's their ability to fold elements of that style gently into the musical mix that perhaps truly sets Westfauster apart, notably on the two epics, "Where Are You" and the album closer "Did It or Didn't It (Take Us High)." That and the delicate textures of their songs and the wonderfully shimmering and dreamy quality of their atmospheres. With its subtle shifts in mood and style, luminescent sound, and lovely, reverberated harmonies, King's Dream reaches transcendental heights. Unlike their more extravagant contemporaries, Westfauster never flamboyantly highlight the musical journey or magnificent musicianship, preferring a more elegant, understated stance that allows this album to glow in all its glory.
