Description

Here are some really great artifacts from the early days of the band TOOL. I was lucky enough to know those guys back when they were forming the band, we ran around together alot in L.A. and when they were in Seattle they would come over and visit. I kinda lost track of them over the years, but we sure had some good times goofing around town. (item1) Is just a copy of some little polaroids I have. I took a few rolls of film of them for their record label, because they didn't have any at the time. I gave the film to the label and never saw it again, so these photos are all I have from that shoot. It's the first photo ever taken of them as a band. (item2) This is their demo cassette they made on a 4-track, Cold and Ugly-Hush-Part of Me-Crawl Away-Sober-Jerk Off is the track list. After they got signed their record company made a couple hundred copies with a black cover for them to pass around, but this is one of the first few that were made by the guys in the band before they had a record deal. Sounds great for a 4-track recording. Pretty rare item I would think. (item3) This is an official copy of their first video they made. It's for the song Sober, it was made by some very talented friends of theirs, and I think they worked on it as well. (item4) These are some photos I took of them doing some early recordings at studio 56 in Los Angeles. I had been hanging out with them that day, so they invited me to the session and I snapped a few photos of them while they were working. Maybe some of they only photos of them working in the recording studio. I know they have been a little camera shy over the years. Along with the photos in the frame is a track sheet from that session dated 11/3/91  Artist TOOL Title SOBER Studio B. I'm pretty sure these sessions did not make it to the record. There is also a backstage pass from the Lollapalooza tour 1993. I went to a few of those with them, and remember them graduating from the "B" stage to the "A" stage at some point. This is when Maynard met Layne from Alice in Chains and they became friends. (item5) Rare 8"x10" glossy black and white promo shot of them. The photo is in slightly rough condition, but not to bad. (item6) is an original copy of the album Undertow on 12" grey vinyl, I only played it a couple of times, it's not "mint" but it's in really nice shape. (item7) Poster from a show they did at the Loft. Danny was playing drums in all three bands that night, and I think some of their set made it on to the first record. TOOL was not the headline (yet). (items8) early copy of Opiate on C.D. and a flyer from a show with Porno for Pyros. So there you have it, some early stuff from TOOL. They turned out to be a monster of a band in the heavy rock arena. Hope you enjoyed checking this stuff out, I know there are still some hardcore fans out there that will dig it.  4.00 to ship U.S.  50.00 to ship international
