Description
Tonton Macoute - self titled
A truly excellent condition copy of this 1971 UK 1st press prog gem with wonderful stereo audio quality.
Year/Label : 1971 UK RCA NEONLabel number : STEREO NE 4
Matrix numbers : AGBS 0519 - 1E / AGBS 0520 - 2E
Stampers : AIP / AIQ (both etched)
A solid excellent (EX) condition (at least) jet black sheen vinyl which really does gleam. Hard to find any marks on the vinyl, even with close inspection under a bright light...perhaps just a couple of faintest of faint paper scuffs and a couple of tiny areas of slight "dulling" in the dead wax area but that's it. Clearly this is a record that has been sparingly played. Excellent (EX) condition labels - nice and clean and crisp, each with the odd very, very light handling mark but difficult to identify any spindle trails at all - further supporting the view that this record has only been sparingly played. Very good plus (VG+) condition - some would grade as "excellent", I am sure - non laminated gatefold outer sleeve with all of the beautiful and iconic art work, colours and text remaining crystal clear and vibrant. The edges, including the spine, remain firm but there is some mild intermittent scuffing on the top back edge and on both of the bottom edges (front and back). The spine is excellent with just a couple of tiny "nicks" though there is some mild rubbing at each end and on the spine corners. The inside of the gatefold is hard to fault, as is the reverse side apart from a little very mild ring wear close to the reverse side top edge. Excellent plus (EX+) STEREO audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, clicks, interference, or distortion and any background crackle is only occasional and at an absolute minimum - just the hint of some very, very background crackle during a couple of the intermissions - negligible. Great tone with crystal clear vocals and instrumentation and every track a brilliant listen. Comes with original black die-cut inner sleeve which does have 7 and 9cm splits on the side edges and a little fraying on the top edge (I always supply a brand new poly-lined inner sleeve).
A great copy of this ever rarer and more sought after 1971 1st press prog gem with the gleaming vinyl and terrific stereo sound quality being real highlights.
POSTAGE COSTS :
For the UK £4 using Royal Mail tracked 48 (Special delivery for records selling for more than £200);
for continental Europe £13 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for,
and for the rest of the world £19 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.
I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.
Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. A bit about myself : I have been collecting UK vinyl for over 53 years from a variety of sources : my own collection, friends and family, car boot and garage sales, door-to-door leaflets, and even through placing an advert in my wife's shop window! My ebay feedback speaks for itself so rest assured that you are buying from a trusted seller and in the very unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase just e-mail me and I will sort out the problem. I offer a "no questions asked" refund policy. If you require any further information, including photos, then let me know and I'll do my best to oblige. There is NO RESERVE on this item. Richard
