TOMMY FLANAGAN – TRIO OVERSEAS – PRESTIGE 7632 – DISKMAKERS TEST PRESSING – M- - STEREO
This session was recorded in Stockholm, Sweden on August 15, 1957 and features Tommy Flanagan on piano, Wilbur Little on bass and Elvin Jones on drums. The session was made by Metronome Records, a Swedish company, but the rights were sold to Prestige. Metronome only issued them in 45 rpm, but Prestige issued them as an LP. The original Mono release was the last Prestige release with the New York City address on the label, as Prestige was moving to Bergenfield. Only a few were pressed and the session went into the vault. That’s why the original Mono recording is one of the most collectible LPs for collectors. SIDE A: RELAXIN’ AT CAMARILLO; CHELSEA BRISGE; ECLYPSO, BEAT’S UP and SKAL BROTHERS. SIDE B: LITTLE ROCK; VERDANDI; DELARNA and WILLOW WEEP FOR ME. “VAN GELDER” is stamped on both sides on the blank vinyl. This is a STEREO test pressing.
I have rated this test pressing as M- for the following reasons. Both sides of the vinyl are clean of any marks. There is no wear or marks on the spindle hole on either side of the spindle hole.
