Description
Available here is a rather rare Tom Waits triple-record set, known and catalogued under the title - Special Promotion Package. Issued in the UK by Island Records in 1985, I’ve listened to all six sides of the set which comprises the following -
1. A Conversation With Tom Waits - Promo 12" Record - Cat No. TW 1. Tom Waits talks about Swordfish Trombones, his 1983 album release. Generous excerpts from the various songs are included.
Vinyl Condition - Very Good - This record contains a number of surface marks/light scratches. No jumps or sticking during play but periodic clicks will be heard, some sequential. I’ve only given the record a cursory clean so the sound quality may well improve further with a little more dedicated attention.
Cover/Sleeve Condition - Very Good - The unique picture sleeve has no damage or wear of note but there are a few small marks. Inner is plain white, die cut and poly-lined.
2. Rain Dogs Promo 12" Record Cat No. PR 792 - Tom Waits talks about Rain Dogs, his 1985 album release. A-Side is Tom talking while the B-Side contains three songs from Rain Dogs.
Vinyl Condition - Excellent- - Audio performance and visual appearance is actually excellent but downgraded due to minor marks to the B-Side inner label. Tom’s comments appear to have been reproduced from an analogue tape, so there is a degree of original background hiss.
Cover/Sleeve Condition - Excellent- - Black generic Island die-cut sleeve with paper inner.
3. Tom Waits - In The Neighborhood - 4xTrack 12" Record - Cat No. 12IS 260 - This is a copy of the 1985 release, which had an independent release.
Vinyl Condition - Excellent - Bright and clean, it looks little played. No performance issues of note.
Cover/Sleeve Condition - Excellent - Like the record, looks almost new.
Outer Cover Condition - Very Good - This is largely plain white and open-sided but with a black and white image/information strip affixed to the front. It is slightly discoloured through age with a little rubbing in places around the edges and corners. There are also a couple of dried marks from what appears to have been historic price stickers. Inside are two sheets of cardboard, which pack out and protect the inner contents whilst ensuring a tighter fit.
Overall weight when securely boxed and wrapped will be 1kg approx. As a result the following p&p charges will apply -
Postage and Packing Charges
UK - 2nd class - £3.00
Rest of Europe - £11.10 airmail
Canada - £17.80 airmail

It is not my intention to profit from postage. If possible I use good clean recyclable material but I also buy bubble wrap, brown paper, packing tape and glue and all items are well wrapped and protected before posting. Items are also weighed and postage calculated before I list at auction and a small percentage of the charge does go towards packing costs.
I will accept returns on any item which is not as described and refund all costs upon safe receipt. See "Me" for further general despatch information.
