Working diligently with my librarian hat on. I am really proud of how well we took care of our things and collectables…just kinda forgot. We have hundreds of quality pieces…some seldom seen especially in the U.S. Some are rare or at least hard to find. I welcome International Buyers…I know you have to pay high taxes for both countries …and it takes forever, but collecting is like that, I know.

If the record/tape/whatnot is a mess - you will know about it and see it, if it was a cut out , I will show and tell.  Nonsmoking home, original owners (okay a few finds in thrifting Years ago)...Happy to pass on to someone who wants it.

Inner Sleeve: Good – It has the original but it is wrinkled (see pics) a little ironing would fix I will include a new inner sleeve for this one.

Rain Dogs Island, 1985
By pigging out on a nineteen-track LP that goes on for fifty-four minutes without a bad cut, Waits demonstrates how fully he's outgrown the bleary self-indulgences--booze, bathos, beatnikism--that bogged down his '70s. He's in control of his excesses now, and although his backing musicians shift constantly, he's worked out a unique and identifiable lounge-lizard sound that suits his status as the poet of America's non-nine-to-fivers. But the sheer bulk of the thing does get wearing--it never peaks. I wish he'd figured out a way to throw "Union Square," "Cemetery Polka," and "Clap Hands" into sharper relief. And realize that those might not even be his high points, or yours. B+

…”On Rain Dogs, Waits' beatnik hobo poetry, Beefheart (by way of Satchmo) vocals and some just plain impeccable songwriting ("Downtown Train" has been covered many times) are bolstered by a phenomenal band — guitarist Marc Ribot and junkyard percussionist Michael Blair supply the album's most defining sounds, but the backing cast also includes Keith Richards, Chris Spedding, Robert Quine and chief Lounge Lizard John Lurie. Such diverse cuts as "Cemetery Polka" (with Farfisa, trombone and parade drum), "Blind Love," (virtually a country cover of "Jersey Girl," complete with fiddle and Keith Richards' twanging) and "Jockey Full of Bourbon" (a conga-driven rhumba) give the album a wonderful sense of schizophrenia….”

Vinyl collecting tips

 “Check the edition of the record, i.e. whether or not it is a standard copy, a REPRESS (non-original), or a PROMO (usually worth a lot more as they were released in limited numbers before being commercially released).

 *FIRST (1ST) PRESS: These LPs are the very first to come off the production line and are made directly from the mother discs, the matrix numbers usually end in -1.

*MATRIX NUMBERS: These are numbers found etched into the vinyl between the final track and label. Each side should have a different number. They tell you when are where the LP was made, if the matrix numbers end in -1 it usually means they are 1st pressings.

 Bear in mind that some releases get a simultaneous release on multiple formats within the same territory, and then you have the releases that may be released at the same time in completely different territories often by different labels.
