Description
Up for auction is a very rare copy of the classic Tom Waits album "Rain Dogs" originally released on Island Records (7-90299-1) in 1985.
-Guaranteed original First Pressing -Promotional copy w/ gold stamp on back
-1-1/1-2 and MASTERDISK in run-out matrix
-Correct black "dished" Island labels
-Includes original insert/lyric sheet -Record comes in archival poly-lined audiophile inner sleeve
Condition: The cover is in very nice condition with only minor signs of wear and age. Front is nice and clean, no ring wear. Seams are strong, no splits, just some light rubbing on bottom edge. Corners are sharp, not bumped, just some light rub on a couple. Very well-preserved copy. Grade: Excellent (EX), better than typical VG+ copies.
The vinyl is in very nice condition, still retains its original high gloss shine and luster. No obvious scratches or scuffs, just a few faint superficial hairlines on both sides, probably from taking the vinyl out of original paper inner sleeve a few times. Labels are clean, no marks around spindle holes, indicating little previous play.
Play-Tested: This records has excellent fidelity, no significant surface noise or obvious distractions. Not audiophile clean, but none of these '80s originals, even NM copies, were. Probably played a few times, but handled very carefully. Very well-preserved. Grade: Excellent (EX).
