TOM PETTY AUTOGRAPHED TEST PRESSING 45 recording of "YOU GOT LUCKY". (I think its on both sides? Written in pencil on each side is "52144" which is the record's number.
I found this in a record store in NYC back in the late 80's. Where I bought it had lots of other MCA promotional stuff.
I've checked ebay for other Tom Petty signed items to compare the autograph to...and I sincerely believe 99.9% that this signature is legit!
YOU GOT LUCKY was recorded in 1982 for Tom Petty & The Heartbrakers fifth album Long After Dark, released in November of 1982 on Backstreet Records. It resulted in this item, becoming a major MTV hit, the lp was also the first to feature the late Howie Epstein on bass and harmony vocals.
I can't imagine anyone, prior to my ownership around 1988, just deciding to forge Tom's signature on a Test Pressing of a record with no title!
The vinyl which obviously I never played looks MINT. The Picture Sleeve which I found separately is Near Mint. There are no sean splits, tear or rips (if anyone cares)
