Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

ORIGINAL 1966 FIRST PRESS
The ROLLIN' STONES
Burning At The Hollywood Palladium
\ TRADE MARK OF QUALITY - 1638
TOP COPY!
Mega-aought after first printing in vibrant BLUE VINYL ...the 1972 Rolling Stones in Holywood featuring exclusive versions to tracks we all dig::::
Releases of this STONED gem came in a generic yellow cover with either a stamped title or a xeroxed photo insert taped or glued to the cover.
“Trademark Of Quality” records were like the lost ark of the covenant to many of us way back in the early '70s. That little underground comix-style pig logo meant that this was a “real” underground collectible, which was about as close to crime as most folks were ever going to get.
This particular gem was recorded at the Hollywood Palladium on June 9,1972. That’s the Mick Taylor era of the Stones, back when they were still badass rock stars. The sound is pretty damn good infact....
If you’ve ever been to the Hollywood Palladium you know that it’s a terrific venue for concerts. With a maximum capacity of 3,500; it’s just large enough to accommodate a select concentration of the dedicated tribe who made the cut, as well as small enough to create a relatively intimate party atmosphere where “the bands and the fans can rock the house”. With that in mind you may wonder, out of a population of seven million in L.A. county with at least a few hundred thousand Stones fans, how did one get tickets?
The tickets were available on a first come first serve basis from information in an ad in the L.A.Times Saturday edition. The first 3,500 people, whose check inside their mailed requests were received, got tickets. Pure Gold! Opening for the Stones was a legend, Stevie Wonder! This night’s performance saw Stevie reveling in the success of his “Music of My Mind” and “Talking Book” highpoint, with “Living for the City” and the classic funk-electro-rocker “Superstition”,- what a thrill for real!
Once the Stones took the stage it was party time! This was during a good, clean, fun cocaine phase of the Stones and they came well prepared! Mick and his band mates were hyped up, they knew who they were about to perform for; that’s right, the hard-core L.A.Stones fans that made it to this concert!Joints were passed; joints were received and the Stones rocked the house! This was a rejuvenating time for the Stones with their double LP, “Exile on Main St.” as a return to their rock ‘n’ blues roots and punkish attitude that attracted the crowd to them so much in the first place.
Although initially panned, (fans knew better) the “Exile On Main Street” LP rocked hard and dirty, just the way we liked our Stones – and it’s now not only considered a classic high-point but possibly the last “classic” Stones release to date – for real. To prove the intimacy of attending this concert of 3,500; the Stones next L.A. area gig was the Long Beach Arena (capacity: 13,500) and then two nights at the Forum, Inglewood (Capacity: 18,000).
So nearly 50,000 L.A.-area fans saw the Stones in 1972 – but only 3,500 saw them intimately. Lineup:
Mick Jagger (Vocals and Harmonica), Keith Richards (Guitars and Vocals),
Mick Taylor (Guitars), Bill Wyman (Bass), Charlie Watts (Drums), Nicky Hopkins (Piano and Organ), Bobby Keyes (Saxophones), Jim Price (Trumpet and Trombone). A Classic Kick-Ass Set:
- Brown Sugar
- Bitch
- Rock Off
- Gimme Shelter
- Happy
- Tumbling Dice
- Sweet Virginia
- You Can’t Always Get What You Want
- All Down The Line, Midnight Rambler
