Description
I recently had the good fortune to buy the collection of the company director of the Australian label, Regular Records, including the entire Regular Records Archives...and this was within that collection.
ARTIST: TINY TIM -
TITLE: "CHAMELEON" .
FORMAT: …vinyl LP…
LABEL: A Street Of Dreams .
CAT. #: YPRX-9484 .
DATE OF RELEASE: 1980 .
PRESSED IN: Australia .
ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING? Yes...and a stunning copy it is too .
This was autographed by Tiny Tim, in the Regular offices, on a visit here in 1992...he signed it:
"Miss Jennifer - Best of Luck - Tiny Tim - April 2, 1992"
in blue felt pen. On the back, it's also been signed by famed artist and thankfully obseessive Tiny fan Martin Sharp, and also by his brother Russell Sharp, who had some involvement at the time (and is crediited on the LP)...and this had never left those offices until now. Quite who Miss Jennifer was, and why she never picked this up, seems to have slipped the memory of the Regular director...and thus this stunted tale ends there...shame.
I noticed that Wikipedia states that this LP was released on TTCH label (cat. #: 1206)...not true; I can assure you this was the first and ONLY pressing (I was also semi-involved at the time), and there were only 1000 copies pressed (they got that part right).
CONDITION:
COVER: (M-)...basically mint/untouched...
VINYL: (MINT)...as shiny and pristine as the day it left the pressing plant...never been within a sniff of a turntable...
LABELS: (Side One: MINT / Side Two: MINT)...
If you have any concerns about the accuracy of my gradings, please check my feedback for the odd nice comment from some satisfied folk out there.... (and hopefully you may be able to join their ranks).
