Tiny Bradshaw - The Great Composer (1959): King MONO pressing of this gem! LP has nice glass and only faint marks, nothing deep or that can be felt. King records RARELY appear in this great condition. The country and R&B records they made were generally well loved and well played. This LP plays in marvelous condition, I’ve included a sound sample of the noisiest (not really so noisy!) here:
Front Cover is beautiful! It has no tears, cut-outs or writing, Top and side seams are solid, bottom has a seam split in the middle and on the out er edge of about 2" each. It was in a plastic sleeve that seems to have kept it this amazing for it's 50+ years. Only the faintest of ring wear on the back cover (almost not noticeable) There is one small 1/4 inch tear on the back cover in the middle left. Original black label pressing with King in smaller letters about 2 inches across (the first of the black labels). Labels show some spindle wear and a small pen mark (looks like a bird with a C underneath) that seems to have been the owners personal mark as it's on the R&B and Jazz LPs I'm listing (Check 'em out!).
The LP contains sixteen sides composed and played by Tiny Bradshaw during the early nineteen fifties including his best known tune "Well Oh Well". Some of the tenor sax soloists gained great fame in later years such as Red Prysock (many hits for Mercury), Sil Austin ("Ping Pong" and "Slow Walk"), and Noble "Thin Man" Watts ("Hard Times (The Slop")). Also included is the original version of "The Train Kept A-Rollin' " which became a rock-a-billy standard in the mid fifties when performed by Johnny Burnette and the Rock’n’Roll Trio, and even later by the Yardbirds under the title ‘Stroll On’ in the Antonioni film Blow Up. With the exception of two vocal tracks “Well Oh Well”, and “The Train Kept A’Rollin’” all the rest are instrumental small group jump blues.
Tiny Bradshaw was in good company. In the R&B instrumental field King had Lucky Millinder, Todd Rhodes, Bill Doggett, Big Jay McNeely, Sonny Thompson and Earl Bostic. Their vocal R&B lineup included James Brown (I'm selling his 'Please Please Please' this week too!), Roy Brown, Ivory Joe Hunter, Hank Ballard, Little Willie John, Wynonie Harris, Bullmoose Jackson, Little Willie Littlefield, Eddie Vinson, Jimmy Witherspoon, Little Esther (Phillips), Annie Laurie, and Lula Reed.

Insurance: Insurance is REQUIRED on winning bids of $50 or more and will be added to the invoice. Feel free to request insurance on any amount value. International packages are mailed USPS First Class International.
All orders are shipped well protected in record mailer boxes with cardboard or bubble wrap fillers. Without insurance, the package becomes the responsibility of the postal system to deliver it undamaged. I am not responsible if it does not get to you. On overseas packages I can provide the date sent and Customs form number. I can also provide the tracking number on REGISTERED and EXPRESS mail packages.
