Description

TIM BUCKLEY
on The Music Factory with Tom Wilson
MGM Promotional Radio Show (cat# MFRS-7)
Original 1967 Radio Broadcast Disc
This is a VG to VG+ copy of a 1967 radio show called The Music Factory with Tom Wilson. Tom was a famous record producer for Bob Dylan, Velvet Underground, Zappa, Nico, Simon & Garfunkel, etc. and this radio show was used to promote records he produced. The guest for this broadcast is Tim Buckley discussing his "new" LP Goodbye And Hello (produced by Wilson) along with Tim's manager Herb Cohen. Several topics are discussed and songs from Tim are played as well as songs from Nico and Ian & Sylvia. The downside is that this LP is sides 1 and 3, which means somewhere in the world is sides 2 and 4. Regardless, this is an amazing 30 minutes for serious fans of Tim Buckley. The album has visual marks across side 1 due to the previous owner (those surface marks are not audible) and side 3 looks solid VG+. Overall, it plays very well - there is some light crackling at times and there are some small audible scratches but they are mostly during the music pieces. (Honestly, the music is like listening to a record of record - the songs sound 100x better on your original LPs or CDs.)  I have never seen this album before or knew of it's existence - there is no information about it on the web or discogs at all! I can't imagine more than 100 copies of this LP exist. This is an absolutely rare album that you will probably never see again. A true holy grail for Tim Buckley fans and collectors!  Please view the pictures & feel free to ask me any questions!
