Condition : front laminated flipback cover shows some moderate creasing on the upper left corner, a few bends and a light ring wear, EX+ / vinyl has a certain number of surface marks which affect play with moderate or slight clicks, VG++

GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie vengono controllati sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i 33 giri in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1. Per EP e singoli a 45 giri utilizzo un Thorens TD 166 BC con testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge. I listen EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : il compositore di nascita Ungherese ma emigrato in Australia nel 1951 fornisce una dimostrazione eccellente della sua capacità artistica. Nella colonna sonora accanto a tracce dalla struttura sinfonica che riflettono atmosfere per lo più malinconiche e drammatiche troviamo brani con caratteristiche sonore molto differenti così come in "Disco Theme"(a7) uno sconvolgente brano ballabile con eccitanti improvvisazioni di Hammond, buon coinvolgimento di chitarra, sezione fiati, basso, batteria; venature jazzeggianti e funky. "Myra's Theme" (b1) è un brano jazz dal andamento lento guidato dal pianoforte con il supporto del basso, ancora buon jazz in "Myra to Manly" (b3) dalla ritmica veloce scandita dal basso, dai fiati, da pianoforte e chitarra. "Flight from Kings Cross" (b4) caratterizzata da vivace ritmo ed infine "To Manly with Peg" (b2) che pur iniziando con un breve assolo di sassofono viene subito dopo presa in mano dall'intera orchestra dando vita ad un bel tema rilassante e descrittivo. 

Notes : the composer born in Hungary but emigrated to Australia in 1951 gives an excellent demonstration of his artistic skill. In the score along with tracks from the classical structure reflecting mostly melancholic and dramatic atmospheres there are tunes from very different music characteristics as well as "Disco Theme" (a7) a killer dance tune from the exciting improvisations of Hammond, good involvement of guitar, brass section, bass, drums with jazzy and funky flavors. "Myra's Theme" (b1) is a jazz tune by the slow movement led by piano with the support of the bass, again good jazz in "Myra to Manly" (b3) from the fast rhythm punctuated by bass, brass instruments, piano and guitar. "Flight from Kings Cross" (b4), characterized by lively rhythm and finally "To Manly with Peg" (b2) which, although starting with a short sax solo, immediately after is led by the full orchestra creating a beautiful relaxing and descriptive theme.
