Description

Great and wonderful early jazz/swing piano from "Fats" well before the "Rhythm" days. Recorded in Camden, New Jersey on 2 August 1929. The record looks and is utterly pristine and appears never to have been played at all. The record could be described as in dealer stock condition, no wear or scuffs and a high gleaming shine. One very fine and slight scrape on Side B , almost unnoticeable . Labels are good but there is fade on Side B, still readable but no damage. The playback is excellent, with low background hiss and great fidelity similar on both sides, plays loud and clear and is really in fantastic condition.  The muted background noise seems to confirm my theory that there was always some background noise on manufacture, due to the pressing technology in place in the '20s and the nature of shellac as a material.
This is a rare early record in phenomenal almost un-played condition. A rare chance to obtain such a fabulous record in this state. Great performances and highly collectable.
