Description
You may think of the band Them as a showcase for Van Morrison, and you'd be right about that. This is him at his most ferocious, which isn't a characteristic he revisited in his solo career, but it's here and it's great. Yes, you get Gloria and Here Comes the Night, but you also get Mystic Eyes, which is less well-known but extraordinary, my favorite Them cut. Turbulent and churning, and pushing a state of being rather than a story or a relationship. They're walking by the graveyard, and he looks into her eyes--that's it. And it's as amazing in its 2:35 as the whole of "TB Sheets" in its sprawling turmoil. And the words don't rhyme. Check it out.
I've loved having the first two Them albums in their original pressings for all this time...and i've taken very good care of them (Them).
Pristine vinyl. For discophiles, this is the 1965 Bestway Pressing. NM vinyl and NM- on the sleeve (a bit of ringwear).
