Description
This was the third single released in Australia by the Irish group Them in 1965. The first two "Baby Please Don't Go/Gloria" and "Here Comes the Night/All for Myself" were both hits and charted well. This single did not sell as well and as a consequence is extremely difficult to find. Both songs have a strong soul influence, with phrasing reminiscent of Don Covay's at this time. It might be that this departure from their earlier material was the reason for this single sinking without a trace, if anything it is a preview of the direction Van Morrison, the lead singer, was to take later in his career. There are audio clips of both of these songs on you tube if you want to hear what they sound like. The vinyl on both sides of this record is clean and shiny, with barely a scuff and both labels are clean, no writing or stickers.(you can easily see the reflection of my camera's tripod on both sides in photos 1 & 2) Both sides play LOUD and clear, no scratches,skips or jumps(EX). The cover is an original Decca company sleeve, it is clean on both sides, no writing or stickers. There are no tears or splits, just a couple of fine creases near the corners and the opening is not tattered.The colour is a bit faded down the left hand side of the front (see Photo 3)(VG). This record is 51 years old and it is fantastic condition. If you have been waiting for this record to turn up, you can stop looking now, I don't think you will find another one in this condition any time soon.
