For sale here is a VERY rare EP ...(especially in this condition) by THEM. And is an ORIGINAL 1965 MONO UK 1st Pressing on the 1st Press BLUE DECCA label.THIS EP IS MEGA RARE AND VERY DIFFICULT TO LOCATE. THIS IS ONE OF THEM's RAREST EP's EVER, AND HARDLY EVER TURNS UP FOR SALE... TRY AND GET HOLD OF ANOTHER ONE!..NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS EP IS IN STUNNING CONDITION...(have a look at my photo's) THIS IS THE ORIGINAL UK 1965 MONO 1st PRESSING ON THE 1st PRESS BLUE DECCA LABEL. 1st PRESS  MATRIXES, AND 1st PRESS BLUE DECCA FRONT LAMINATED 3 FLIPBACK MAC NEILL PRESS SLEEVE ...THIS EP IS MEGA RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND - SO DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS ULTRA RARE RECORD...this is the ORIGINAL BLUE DECCA UK MONO 1st pressing from 1965 and is in STUNNING condition!..The record is pressed on a slab of THICK black quality vinyl. The Cat no. is DFE 8612 the 1st press BLUE DECCA label...(have a look at my photo's) and is a UK MONO 1st Pressing..

Labels are the sensational blue DECCA format in as near as mint condition!!!. With the silver DECCA logo above the central holes, on both labels to confirm that this is the very first issue of this magnificent rarity. Has a few very ultra light spindle lines to indicate that this has possibly only been played a couple of times!!! with NO damage of any kind. NO graffiti , NO rips NO tears, and in as near mint condition.!!!

Vinyl

Thickly pressed heavy weight vinyl pressing with jet black mirrior like surfaces That have that just pressed look!!. A magnificent vintage classic . Against a strong halogen light and angled at 45 degrees , There are NO surface marks, NO scratches or scuffs and absolutley NO blemishes whatsoever!!!!! NO tiny faint wispy lines are visible whatsoever!!!. A remarkable visual and impossible to locate  in this in this condition! and would therefore grade as near as mint, if not mint!!!

Sleeve

First issue front laminated 3 flipback Macneill press sleeve is in excellent +++ condition!!Hardly any wear at all just a miniscule amount of laminate creasing around the edges.The sleeve is a Fantastic collectors item . This is a fine example of this sensational DECCA classic  and would easily grade as excellent +++.

Them had the potential to become one of the leading groups of their era. That they failed to do so can be put down to bad management and an unstable line-up.

Morrison began singing professionally in 1960 with a C&W band called Deanie Sands & The Javelins. The following year he joined a rock band, The Monarchs, with whom he remained until Them were formed in 1963.

In Belfast at that time there was only one dance hall where young R&B groups were featured, the Old Sailor's Maritime Hall, and Them was formed as a result of jam sessions there. From the start the line-up of the group was shakey, and when Them made their first trip to London in 1964, Jackie McAuley stayed in Belfast. They almost starved on this first trip, but the second, later in the year, was more successful. Their second single "Baby Please Don't Go" was used as a theme tune by the popular TV show Ready, Steady, Go!". The record eventually peaked at No. 10 in January '65. In April they had their biggest hit with "Here Comes The Night" which made No. 2.

After "Here Comes The Night", the band had no further hits, despite releasing five singles and two excellent albums. Morrison began writing songs but was not encouraged by other band members and he left the group in June '66. He was replaced by Keith McDowell.

Them then toured America unsuccessfully,. But by then there was little left to connect the group with the original. They disbanded at the end of 1967.

my records are condition graded visually in accordance with Record Collector's Grading System as follows:

MINT (M): Unplayed, pristine condition, often still sealed.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in almost brand new condition with no apparent surface marks, full original vinyl lustre, and no deterioration in sound quality.The cover and any extra items are in near perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and/or packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record obviously has been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover and/or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has deteriorated noticeably, perhaps with some distortion and/or scratches. The cover and/or contents may suffer from folding, scuffing, spine-splits, major discolouration, etc.
