Description

You are bidding on Thelonious Monk's classic Brilliant Corners vinyl record.  This is the 2nd mono pressing on the blue Riverside label with deep groove, RLP 12-226.   


The vinyl record has been play graded in G+/VG condition and visually graded in VG+ condition.  The 1st side looks great with minimal background noise from minor sleeve scuffs.  The 2nd side looks great as well with similar issues.  The reason this gets dropped to a G+/VG play grade is because there is a 1" scratch on the 1st track second side (see pic) that causes several skips.  It plays thru the skips, (no need to get up and manually move the tonearm), and once it plays thru the scratch the rest of the side sounds great with some light background noise, but that scratch definitely warrants the lower grade in my book, as a result of the skips.


The laminated cover is graded in VG+ condition.  The front cover looks great, with hardly any wear.  The back cover has some minimal shelf wear and a small tear in the top right corner.  Otherwise the seams are strong and it is a good looking cover!
