on the PARLOPHONE RECORDS cat# R 5511 vintage 1966 ORIGINAL
A renowned PSYCH gem - gaining more and more attention with collectors, as the word got around about this obscure release!
It's great, with a deliberately dour vocal style that perhaps gained influence from Walker Brothers, but has a great sound in its' own right. The guitar exudes a doom-laden threatening edge that backs the song well. It was unusual for 1967, but DJ's and reviewers didn't know what to make of it, clearly, and airplay was negligible to none.
Sad that such an excellent recording got consigned to the never-will-get-heard tray (probably the BIN in most cases!), but eBay has helped shed light upon these hidden classics at last.
