ARTIST: THE WHO

TITLE: MY GENERATION

LABEL: BRUNSWICK LAT 8616

YOUR CHANCE TO OWN A SUPERB COPY OF ONE THE ICONIC LP's OF THE 60's BEAT ERA

LOW STARTING BID AND NO RESERVE - THIS WILL SELL

This is a superb copy of this LP in excellent condition throughout with almost blemish-free audio playback. The reason I am selling is that I have found at considerable expense an even better copy of this LP and I cannot afford to keep both copies. This is a UK first pressing with matrix numbers MG-10256-1B and MG-10257- 1B. The stampers are H, KT, 2D and I, KT, G.

VINYL: There are some light non-sounding marks on each side which are visible in bright angled light but nothing deep, feelable or anything which causes noticeable intrusion on the quality of the audio playback. The LP retains its original glossy black oily appearance with no graying or loss of lustre. I would grade its appearance 8+ out of 10.

SOUND: This has excellent sound with no hiss, no clicks, no loud pops, no distortion in the upper register, no jumps and no repeats. When I have played this on my high end hi-fi it is possible to hear very light crackle particularly on the run-in and very occasionally during play but you have to listen carefully for it and it does not detract from the listening experience in my view. I would grade it 9+ out of 10. Not perfect but close. I have a digital copy I am listening to on my iPod as I write this and it sounds as good as a download.

LABELS: Both can be seen in the photos above. They are both excellent with only a very few 'snail trails' to indicating that this LP had little play before I bought it. I would grade them 9+ out of 10.

COVER: This Robert Stace cover is what usually lets down copies of this LP because it is very flimsy and susceptible to creasing and wear as well grubbiness on the unlaminated rear. However the great thing about this LP is that the condition of the cover matches that of the vinyl. The cover is super. It is flat with no creasing of the card, no laminate creases or lifting and has a very clean rear with only very minor signs of handling (see photos above). All the edges are straight with no wear. In particular the opeing edges are very sharp with no fraying. The corners are sharp and the spine is straight with no creases and is completely readable and retains its original 'pinches' each end. Having said that there are two minor flaws which I should mention and which I have illustrated above. The top left corner has a small 'ding' and there is a small pin hole at each corner. However despite this I think you'll struggle to find many copies with better covers so I'd grade 8 out of 10.

The inner is excellent and is the poly lined British Patent 900513 version with care instructions printed on it.

BUYER INFORMATION

Please note that unless the play quality is specifically mentioned records are graded visually. I aim to describe the visual appearance of all items accurately using the standards below which are based on the UK Record Collector Price Guide. The highest grade I use now is NEAR MINT ('UNPLAYED' if still sealed in shrink wrap or occasionally full MINT but only if the provenance of the item suggests this to be correct). Records graded EX+ or EX++ would probably be called 'near mint' or 'mint' by most sellers. Please READ THE ITEM DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY and study photographs to avoid disappointment later. I will refund only on items which do not conform to the description and standards set out here.

GRADING SYSTEM

NEAR MINT: The record appears to be in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and other inserts are perfect. For MINT grading see above

EXCELLENT: The item has been played and may have some light surface marks but there is very little, if any, lessening in sound quality. Cover and contents have slight wear.

VERY GOOD: The record has been played quite alot but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Cover and contents show some wear.

GOOD:The record has been played many times and the sound quality has deteriorated noticeably. The cover and contents are often damaged.

I use EX++,EX+,VG++,VG+ as subsidiary gradings. Unless the record is extremely rare I do not sell items which are less than VG in condition.

Check out my feedback and you will feel secure in bidding but please note I cannot guarantee to describe every detail of the record and cover BUT the grading will reflect the general, actual condition. ONLY if the grading does not reflect the overall condition of the item will I refund. But be assured that if there is any major defect not mentioned by me I offer a no quibble guarantee. I do not refund return postage costs.

I accept PayPal, cheques drawn on UK banks and Postal Orders. I do not make any additional charge for using Paypal. PAYMENT WITHIN 3 WORKING DAYS PLEASE - ANY PROBLEMS CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY

I obtain a certificate of posting from the UK Post Office for all items. If an item is lost in the post I will claim on the buyer's behalf and reimburse when the Post Office pays compensation. It is the buyer's responsibility to read the listing carefully. I will not refund if the buyer has made unwarranted assumptions about the item e.g. that it is a first press if that is not stated.
