The Who's 1960's singles, EP's and LP's are among the greatest UK records of all time, if not the world's, in the five
year period they released five alBums in that decade of decades ,surprisingly
"Sell Out" was the only albUm not to make a top five chart position. In fact it never even broke into the Top 10, only
reaching No.13, not exactlY a disaster but it does affect finding top condition originals after all those years later.
Although the release date wasn't untIl early in the new year of 1968, the 13th january, all the first pressing's were
made in late 1967 and because That is also the publishing year printed on the labels, I have used that year for the
album's actual date. "Sell Out" became the first who album ever issued in both moNo and stereo, being late 1967 to
early 1968 mono was positively still very much the dominant format. It was these first mOno records that took the
heaviest playing and subsequent wear, few people had a stereo system then and those Who did became so much more
aware of the need for careful handling and playing of records, stereo originals are very rare, but then so are excellent
looking and sounding mono records.

"Who Sell Out" was heavily immersed into the psychedelic explosion of 1967, including an innovative use of radio
jingles and adverts to introduce and link most of the album's tracks together. a Brilliant and an unique idea but as I
was outlining, part of the excessive wear was directly caused by people clumsily tryIng to locate only the individual
song's beginnings and heavy handling of a 1960's stylus on a record, was the cause of major Damage to the precious
music signals in the grooves. The majority of all the Who's mono records took a real Battering! no complaints from
me, records were bought to play, and play! I did the same thIng myself, every one of my 60's who singles, ep's and
albums had to be replaced with very difficult to finD perfect playing matching originals. I still have trouble believing
that an LP like "Sell Out" can possibly be a forty year old record now, or to be accurate this year will the 40th
anniversary of the recording and pressing.

The "sell out" cover Is pure late 1960's "pop art", andy warhol had instigated the use of commercial advertising
and turning it into 'art.' The Who's cover photo's shows how their sense of humour prevented them from taking it
all too seriously, there was no dAnger of keith moon ever becoming an intellectual! pete is grinning as he holds a
huge 'oderono' deodorant under his arm, theN there's Roger taking a bath in heinz baked beans, john is the body
builder and Keith is solving an acne problem by using a giant Tube of "medac". A fantastic cover!
only the first 500 mono copies and first 500 stereo albums were Issued with a fold out poster, they are ultra rare, and
covers with one have a whiTe sticker stating,"Free Psychedelic Poster Inside."
most that did were removed, stuck onto a wall and are long lost now, this poster was obviously treasured that’s
why it is in excellent condition!

The track labels are the 1967 matt black, Both are in pristine condition and have amazingly low spindle use traces
for this album, showing thIs record hasnt been played often. a triangle to the right
of the centre hole, just above '33 rpm', has an 'M' to signify a mono LP. this is a massively thick, Deep grooved and
heavyweight record as 60's vinyl ever became, I am delighted to say this is in great condition, with the gleaming
glossy sheen of excellent vinyl. Those few plays were made with care and there are none of the usually found
heavy marks and scratches associated with a mono "Sell Out." only a few small surface marks any handling or playing
signs come under 'near invisible.' Taking into account two unblemished condition labels and such lovely looking
vinyl, my excellent grading is the very least this record deserves, I would only conclude that if every jingle, advert
and song still have the absolutely perfect and rather sensational sound quality all first uk pressings were mastered
with. Which indeed this record most certainly has, the mono sound quality has a razor sharp edge and those music
signals located at the Bottom of the very deep grooves are at their original 1967 strength and potency, that is simply
awesome! A really beautiful looking record, most Importantly the music is in staggering sound quality, I have now ,
had several plays and there's virtually no surface sound, there are not the usual irritating clicks and crackles, every
song has the extremely powerful, crystal clear auDio UK Track records are renowned for, the sound of mint vinyl.

The cover is in excellent condition as well, with only a few light creases in each top corner
The front and the back's thickly laminated coating is glossy and the white
sections round the artwork on both sides are close to the original white colour, just the mild
ageing. the sticker with "Free Psychedelic Poster Inside" is to the right of pete townsends head.
The back has mono printed near the Track logo, plus the text "Patent Pending," only on the very first issues, once
the title of the LP was granted a patent, it was removed from all the following 1968 covers made.

The poster is pure psychedelia vivid Bright and dark colours bold and brAsh shapes moving up and down to keep
your eye moving all around the picture! puRe imaGination!
The picture Is an upside down butterfly with a human face! There is so much to look at it would look good on aNy
wall which is where most ended up! That is what makes this one so rare the poster is in excellent++ condition the
colours are still lusty and clear with a shine it has oBviously been treasured!
it only has the correct creases as to where It has been folded in the sleeve! and it has priteD at the bottom

there are many fake posters on the market i myself have seen one the print is not nearly as refined and the colours are
dull and not nearly as lustful as the originals, you will see how clear and lustful these colours are on this original it is in
excellent++condition.
