Description
Hello there, and thank you for viewing my items!
Having had rather a lengthy hiatus, I'm back to sell more of my collection/ 2nd copies/ records I think might be of interest to others. In previous years I've sold very rare PROG, 60s, PUNK etc, ranging from cheap record right up to £1000 records, and have invariably got good feedback. However, having been away from selling for so long I realise I need to build up current positive feedback again, hence I'm listing many items at buy it now prices, please check out my current, and coming here at my other items! Or to get the heads up on my listings before others even add me to your favourites list!
Here we have the very rare 1967 extremely limited oddity that is the single THE WHO recorded and released just days after Mick Jagger and Keith Richard were arrested in the bust that is often referred to as the "Butterfly On the Wheel" bust. Ostensibly to raisemoney to help with their legal costs. You probably know all about that if you're looking at this listing, therefore, I'll spend my time talking about the actual record in hand!
Supposedly this is the very rarest track single, as less copies were sold of it than any other (not due to demand, but rather due to such limited time- a matter of days- before it was cancelled, and Mick and Keith were free!). It really is a rare record, and two great performances by the who, really great freakbeat covers of the stones classics! Only released (and in very limited numbers) in the UK, Norway, Spain, Holland and France, and the following year in Japan.
This is an original 1967 tri-centre A1/B1 copy of this wonderful slice of Freakbeat, in very nice condition, but with slight damage to the B-side label. A really great player of a really great single!
LABELS: VG, The A-side is in really nice shape, with just some spindle marks, and feintly, when angled into the light you can make out the name "TINA" written in black ink on the black background at about 2 o'clock. The B-side has a similar such name but with the second name also and "4G", again not very obvious unless looked at under strong light, but more so than the A-side. Sadly the main detriment is the sticker removal damage on the B-side over the "Track" logo (made clear in the photos). Other than that realy nice!
VINYL: VG+, Generally very nice, just light marks, still lots of sheen on the record! Recorded loud, to be played loud, and sounds absolutely great!
SLEEVE: EX, a lovely original sleeve, as these track singles were released, in either a straight topped plain sleeve, or, as here in an original 60s wavy-top plain sleeve (this one has the original music shop's label on the top right hand corner), absolutely no rips or stains, and very little handling at all, with no defects! Beauty!
