Truly a historic classic 'Rock Opera' and the most complete of all the concept albums.
The Pretty Things can be credited with releasing the first concept lp, and Sgt Pepper's doesn't really qualify as one as there are no actually related compositions.
Pete Townshend conceived a magnificent and imaginative story put to music here, and the recording is diverse in musicality yet completely links the tale of a deaf dumb and blind child growing throughout several traumas - involving isolation,
molestation, cruelty, and drugs, and detached criminal parents.
The stature of this release to music history was underlined by it being made into a musical feature film some years later.
Great to find in this BRILLIANT shape, a SPECTACULAR FIRST PRESSED COPY !!
CONDITION;
VINYL NEAR MINT
Very nice copies of both discs, the music projects from the vinyl with vivid clarity, and there are no marks - playing wonderfully.
LABLES are NEAR MINT.
The LAMINATED TRIPLE GATEFOLD COVER is EXCELLENT with a tiny split at the inner jacket edge, and a small bend to the lower right corner causing a little lift to the laminate.
The NUMBERED LYRIC & ARTWORK BOOKLET #8071 is flat, light handling wear, no pen or stickers. A small tear at the corner on the first page.
