Description

PETE TOWNSHEND - PETE LISTENING TIME PROMOTIONAL ONLY. AUTOGRAPHED.1982.

ATCO LABEL, SERIAL SAM 150.

PETE TOWNSHEND INTRODUCES THE TRACKS FROM HIS NEW ALBUM "ALL THE BEST COWBOYS HAVE CHINESE EYES."

This is a UK promo for the "All the best Cowboys" album. Pete Townshend gives spoken introductions to nine of the eleven songs that appear on the album. A small amount of these promos were signed by Pete as a further promotion. This is one of them. You can tell a genuine signed copy of this album, as there is a very faint date stamp just below the signature, with the date shown as  15 JUN  1982.  This is present on this copy. I know there was only a very limited pressing of these promo's, and only a certain amount were autographed, so what we have here is a very collectable album indeed. What makes it even better is that it is in fantastic condition, having been played once only! Here are the tracklistings.

SIDE 1 - intro, STOP HURTING PEOPLE ~ intro, COMMUNICATIONS ~ intro, SLIT SKIRTS ~ intro, EXQUISITELY BORED ~ intro, STARDOM IN ACTON ~ intro,FACE DANCES PART TWO.

SIDE 2 - intro, UNIFORMS ~ intro, PRELUDE ~ THE SEA REFUSES NO RIVER ~ intro, NORTH COUNTRY GIRL ~ intro, SOMEBODY SAVED ME.

Here's the gradings.

THE SLEEVE -  The front has images of John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, and one of Pete Townshend. This is where the signature is, still very clear as you can see in the photo. The sleeve is in Excellent condition, no spine wear, all edges solid, and only one TINY corner ding. The rear is pretty much the same, with only a small patch of ring staining at the top. Not through the card, more like a shadow. Very Minor. The rear has Pete's introductions printed, and the tracklisting. Also, "This is a promotional item - Not for sale" is printed on the rear sleeve, top left.

THE RECORD - Excellent. Shiny and clean, flat, no warping. Only a couple of the faintest signs that it has been played, and only then when angled under light. The labels have 1 faint spindle mark on each side, again only visible when held to light. The record is housed in it's original paper sleeve, which has open corners. The inner is also excellent, even the patent number stamp is still clean and clear.

So, what we have here is a very rare and collectable album in fantastic condition. Definitely a "keeper" for the collector.
