Description
Hi, and welcome to psych_out! auctions!!!
I specialize in 50's, 60's, and early 70's records of almost every genre - Psych, Prog, Psychedelic Funk, Soul, Rhythm 'n' Blues, Pop, Folk, Garage, Acid, Freakbeat, Rock, Jazz e.t.c and everything in between! I've been dealing records for years, but i'm quite new to the ebay game so i'd like to tell you all of my intentions. I travel all over the UK hunting out the VERY BEST records I can find. Obviously, 90%+ of the ones I can find are completely trashed from the hard living ways and the rock 'n' roll, drug and booze fuelled debauchery of all the wild parties of the times, but the golden 10%? I offer them to all of you serious record collectors out there!!!
I'm going to start by listing 20 LP's a week, all timed to end 10 days later. Hopefully after a while, i'll be able to step things up a gear or two in good time. I'll only ever offer THE BEST, MOST AMAZING, MOST IMPORTANT, VERY RAREST UK 1ST PRESS ORIGINAL RELEASE RECORDS I can ever possibly find!!! I won't insult you with later 2nd pressings unless they are of exceptional quality and rarity. I'm sure you love good music as much as me, especially when it's a 1st Press LP, direct from the master tape, as the musicians intended it to be heard (none of this "digitally remastered", weak reissued, remixed rubbish from hired hands with one eye on the mixing desk and the other on the clock! If these session men really knew how genius should sound, surely they would've been geniuses themselves?! There will only ever be one Hendrix, and that's just a tiny example).
I intend to become one of the best sellers on ebay and would like to thank all of you potential bidders for your support and taste in music!!! I strictly grade all LP's I list, visually and sonically using the UK RRPG standards as customer satisfaction is highly important to me, and i'll always do my very best not to let you down. Be sure to add me to your favourite sellers list and check my auctions frequently as i'll be listing some gems that you just WON'T want to miss out on!!!
I think that's everything, so let the auction commence!!!
Title : The Who - My Generation
Label & year : Brunswick LAT 8616 , UK Original Mono ULTRA RARE 1965 1st Press!!!
Matrix's : Side A : MG-10256-1B , Side B : MG-10257-1B
IMPOSSIBLY RARE classic Brunswick debut from the legendary Mod rockers!!!
About : Ultra rare Original 1965 UK day of release 1st press vinyl!!! This MASSIVELY RARE LP initially sold barely anything (LP's were also really expensive to most people back then!!!) and therefore had a very small run, and is INCREDIBLY HARD TO FIND, especially in this condition!!! AN absolute classic LP from this incredible band!!! An astonishing album that really DESERVES to be in EVERY serious 60's / 70's record collection!!! Don't miss out on this MEGA RARE LP!!! If you like good music, bid now!!!
The LP :
Labels :
Classic UK Original 1st Press labels!!!. Both sides are GREAT with NO writing, NO stickers, and NO tears whatsoever!!! Just has a few mild signs of age such as a few light spindle marks, but that's about it!!! AWESOME for a 42 year old record!!! Both must grade overall as Very Good minus if not better!!!
Record : Visual -
Spectacular Thick UK 1st Press Vinyl!!! Nice bright, clean and shiny as if it was just pressed!!! Fantastic jet black mirror like surfaces, it looks GREAT for it's age with NOTHING deep, NO nasty deep scratches whatsoever, and NO deep groove-breaking viscious scuffs either, OR any groovewear whatsoever!!! The only blemishes are just a few mega light scuff marks, and a few light hairlines and age marks here and there, and just some of the usual light wispy sleeve traces (only visible in direct angled light) from general use and where it has sat or been removed from it's cover over the years!!! Well used, but definitely AWESOME for a record of this age and rarity, an ultra thick quality 1st pressing which plays perfectly with no trouble AT ALL!!! Must grade overall as Good++++ (just a shade off the VG region, nowhere near trashed) if not better!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me!!!) Record : Audio - Thankfully, it plays BRILLIANTLY with fantastic mono blast and clarity!!! It really sounds great with NO hops, distortion, sticks, or skips!!! Only (like pretty much all records) has low level static in places such as on the run in grooves and the odd light non repetitive click, and a bit of mild "bluesman's fag" crackle and pop in few and far between places such as on some of the quieter section, but it doesn't overshadow the music AT ALL!!! I'd even argue it gives it added soul!!! A hugely enjoyable listen - The music is TRULY loud and clear!!! UNHEARD OF for a record of this age and rarity!!! Must grade overall audiably as Very Good if not better!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not trashed or overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me!!!) Sleeve :Original 1965 1st press front laminated sleeve complete with original "patents pending" inner!!! Very hard to find this sleeve in ANYTHING approaching a good condition - most are spent, torn and worn due to age and the lifestyles of the buyers of this particular LP!!! This one is NOT, and still looks AMAZING, especially considering the nature of these fragile sleeves!!! NO graffiti, NO splits, NO tears, NO laminate lifting, NO seam wear, NO bad markings AT ALL, and still ULTRA strong and solid after all these years!!! Only has a few MILD signs of the usual ageing, such as a small amount of ULTRA light creases (NO laminate lift whatsoever), a touch of ringwear, some general age dulling to the bright white back (no ugly coffee cup stains or anything like that), and maybe (just to be sure!!!) one or two other ultra light signs of ageing, but NOTHING that really stands out to note!!! And that's truly about it!!! I tend to talk it down, but this is in ABSOLUTELY AWESOME condition for this sleeve!!! Believe me, to find this sleeve in condition as OUTSTANDING as this, is IMPOSSIBLY hard!!! A FANTASTIC sleeve, and a TRUE rarity to find one like this - most have been virtually destroyed or are just about being held together, but not this one!!! It remains completely strong and solid, looks BRILLIANT, and even the spine remains strong, unsplit, solid, and 100% readable!!! Must grade overall as Very Good+ if not better!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not trashed or overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me!!!)
Summary : An OUTSTANDING listen and a great playing example of this INCREDIBLY RARE classic LP!!! Hard to find in any condition, but SERIOUSLY RARE TO FIND ONE AS AWESOME AS THIS!!! YOU WILL NEVER GET THE CHANCE AGAIN, so don't miss out on this scarce opportunity to own a true piece of 60's/70's music history!!! Bid now!!!
Please take a look at all my other auctions for many other ultra rare classic LPs, and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Thanks again for looking, it's truly appreciated!! Cheers!!!I've realized that most countries have their own unique grading system. I base mine strictly on the UK RRPG grading system (occasionally with a + or a - to indicate the higher and lower ends of the grade, though I only use these if i'm having real trouble deciding!), so please check their chart for further clarity if you are unsure of what my grades mean. As a general rule, a mint record will be 100% perfect, an excellent record will be in fantastic clean condition with the occasional light mark and light use from the years, and a very good record will have noticeable visual markings and obvious signs of age and use, but will still remain clean with relatively light wear and will play fantastically well with plenty of life remaining in it. I very rarely offer records below the very good region unless they are of an EXCEPTIONAL rarity and playing quality...I hope this helps!
