RARE 1ST PRESSING
OF THE WHO'S DEBUT ALBUM
MY GENERATION
cat. No LAT 8616 Mono
BRUNSWICK RECORD LABEL. RECORDING MADE BY DECCA.
Masters MG-10256-2B/ MG-10257-1B
The Sleeve: Very Good Minus Condition.
The Clarifoil laminate is completely intact, and the iconic front pictorial is unmarked and increased and has retained its gloss. There is no sticker or sticker residue. The catalogue number is in the top left corner on the the front and Track 2 is credited to Brown only on the back, both of which only came on the first and original sleeve. The reverse of the sleeve has the original owners name written neatly several times. The reverse is showing some off white discoloration, some light record ring wear. The sleeve is sturdy and firm and holds the record well.
There are no splits or rips or any damage.
The Vinyl: In a strong Very Good Plus Condition with clean glossy surfaces with no feelable marks or scratches, no scuffing or drinks or warps. It has been well kept for such a high profile record. Lays completely flat on the turntable and manufactured on robust heavy sixties vinyl, and shows no sign of groove wear. There are a couple of long light stylus hairlines, which they are completely superficial on the surface and don't affect the playback quality.
The labels are very good, no sticker or sticker residue, no handwriting, all text bright against full black background. Quite a a lot of spindle traces but not overly heavy.
The LP fits perfectly on the the spindle and lies completely flat on the turntable.
No sticker or sticker or residue on label. NO writing on label.
White text on label clear and bright contrast well against black background.
First print Brunswick label through DECCA with the N.C.B. and B.I.E.M. Copyright notices boxed on the left hand side, with the MG. 10257 master number printed upside down above the LAT. 8616 catalogue number on the right hand side.
The vinyl is clean with a first pressed sheen.
Inner Sleeve: Decca poly-lined inner 'Important' notice sleeve from the period in very good condition, completely intact, no seam splits, some deep corner creases only. With the MADE IN ENGLAND text in the bottom left corner.
The Audio: The LP delivers a smooth and trouble free playback with no background noises such as pops, clicks, crackles, hiss, jump/ skips, or sticks. Very occasional a light static tick which has has been hard to identify could be heard, but even track change interludes are quiet. The audio quality of this record grades as Excellent and is very likely to be one of better ones you would ever find - crisp and clear audio with a full bass original mono definition.
**********************************************
Contains their hit 'My Generation' amongst many others.
A very hard to find LP on the first issue Brunswick label, with a first re-press 2B master Side 1 and the first press 1B master Side 2, which don't come up for sale often.
This LP will be delivered securely in a professional cardboard LP mailer between several
cardboard stiffeners.
To further protect the LP I also house in 180 gsm PVC sleeves.
The original inner sleeve is put separately to prevent any splits, and a generic plain inner is used.
I use the official grading system from the Record Collector Magazine in describing records from my collection for sale.
UK delivery for this LP is by special delivery.
Over seas shipping is tracked at a reduced cost and a tracking number will be provided.
Happy to refund on return if not satisfied.
