HELLO AND WELCOME TO MY 'ONE OFF' WEDNESDAY NIGHT AUCTIONS (ENDING LATE WEDNESDAY 10TH SEPTEMBER!)!!!!
As many people may already know, I usually end all my items on Sunday nights (and these will still continue!)!!!! However as I had quite a few extra items of UTMOST RARITY come in to me this week (they really are TOP QUALITY, and NOT cheap overstock!) and completely ran out of time to list them last Sunday - I decided to do a 'one off' set of listings of Wednesday auctions ending on Wednesday 10th September!!!! So PLEASE NOTE that this auction will end late on Wednesday 10th September (and NOT Sunday!) - though of course, I will be putting more auctions on during the week for next Sundays auctions!!!! Thanks for reading and please take a look at this AMAZING item below:-On offer here is a VERY rare LP (especially in this condition!!!!) by The Who called "Live At Leeds" and is an ORIGINAL 1970 UK 1st Pressing on 1st Press 'Custom' Track labels!!!! THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!!! THIS IS ONE OF THE RAREST WHO LPs EVER - AND VIRTUALLY NEVER TURNS UP FOR SALE!!!! JUST TRY AND FIND ANOTHER ONE!!!! IT IS ONE OF THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER LPs ON THE TRACK LABEL - AND IS INCREDIBLY HARD TO LOCATE TODAY!!!! BUT WHAT MAKES THIS LP REALLY SPECIAL IS THAT IT IS THE 'RAREST EVER' 1ST PRESSING EVER MADE - AND IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TO ALL OTHER PRESSINGS!!!! AND THIS IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND ON THIS LP!!!! OVER THE YEARS I MUST HAVE HANDLED AND CERTAIN SEEN AT LEAST 1000+ COPIES OF THIS LP - USUALLY IN TERRIBLE CONDITION. AND OVER THE YEARS YOU GET TO KNOW THAT 1ST PRESSINGS EITHER HAVE THE BLACK OR BLUE PRINTED COVERS (WHICH ARE THICKER), 1/1 MATRIX RECORDINGS, THE 'LIVE AT THE MARQUEE' POSTER, AND A FULL SET OF INSERTS WITH 2 YELLOW ONES. AND YOU ALSO GET TO KNOW - THAT LATER COPIES FROM LATE 1971 ONWARDS HAVE THE THINNER RED PRINTED COVERS, THINNER RECORDS WITH A3/B3 MATRIXES, A 'LIVE AT LEEDS' POSTER, AND A FULL SET OF INSERTS - WITH ONLY 1 OF THEM BEING YELLOW. SO AFTER ALL THIS TIME - IT WAS TRULY REFERESHING TO AT LAST FIND ONE 1ST PRESSING THAT IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!!!! AND THIS IS THE FIRST & ONLY 1ST PRESSING I HAVE EVER FOUND LIKE THIS!!!! AT FIRST I SIMPLY THOUGHT - WOW! WHAT A NICE CONDITIONED 1ST PRESSING THAT THIS!!!! BECAUSE IT IS IN LOVELY CONDITION - AS YOU CAN PLAINLY SEE FROM MY PICTURES!!!! AND AFTER CHECKING IT - I FOUND IT DOES INDEED HAVE THE FULL SET OF 1ST PRESS INSERTS (WITH 2 YELLOW ONES!), A BLUE PRINTED COVER (THICKER THAN LATER RE-PRESSINGS!), AND A 1ST PRESS 'LIVE AT THE MARQUEE' POSTER (LATER ONES WERE 'LIVE AT LEEDS' INSTEAD!!!! HOWEVER IT WAS ONLY WHEN I SLID THE VINYL OUT THAT I KNEW SOMETHING WAS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!!!! IT WAS MUCH MUCH THICKER THAN IT SHOULD BE AND HAD COMPLETELY DIFFERENT 2/2 MATRIX ENDINGS!!!! AND AFTER ALL THE MANY COPIES I HAD SEEN OF THIS LP - I HAD NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE!!!! SO I RESEARCHED IT AND SPOKE TO SOMEONE WHO KNOWS A LOT ABOUT 'WHO' RELEASES - AND HE QUICKLY CAME UP WITH THE ANSWER. AND IN REALITY - IT IS VERY SIMPLE!!!! IF YOU TAKE A LOOK AT THE LABELS - YOU CAN QUICKLY SEE THEY WERE EXACTLY THE SAME SHAPE AS 'CBS' LABELS FROM THIS 1970 PERIOD!!!! AND EVEN RARER STILL - THE VINYL HAS A/1 A/A CBS STAMPER CODINGS!!!! AND YET OF COURSE - THE A/2 B/2 MATRIX ENDINGS ARE DISTINCTLY TRACK MATRIX ENDINGS!!!! SO IT IS VERY CLEAR INDEED - THAT THIS IS AN ULTRA RARE 'CBS' CONTRACT PRESSING, MADE FOR TRACK WHEN THIS LP WAS AT EXTREMELY HIGH DEMAND, AND TRACK COULDNT COPE WITH THE AMOUNT NEEDED!!!! AND UNLIKE MOST CONTRACT PRESSINGS - THIS A2/B2 MATRIX WAS MADE EXCLUSIVELY FOR CBS TO USE (IT DOES NOT APPEAR ON ANY NORMAL TRACK PRESSING!) AND WAS USED AT EXACTLY THE SAME TIME AS THE 1/1 MATRIXES THAT TRACK WERE USING AT THE SAME TIME!!!! AND THE WHO COLLECTOR ALSO SAID - WITHOUT ANY DOUBT, THIS IS THE ALL TIME RAREST PRESSING OF THIS LP THAT WAS EVER MADE!!!! ONLY A FEW HUNDRED WERE EVER PRESSED LIKE THIS - AND THEY ARE NOW ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO LOCATE, ESPECIALLY IN THIS FANTASTIC CONDITION!!!! SO THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT AT ALL - THAT THIS IS THE ALL TIME RAREST & MOST SOUGHT AFTER 1ST PRESSING EVER MADE, AND THE CHANCES OF EVER SEEING ANOTHER ONE AGAIN IS VIRTUALLY ZERO!!!!
The record labels are in SUPERB condition (see pictures) with NO wear, NO writing, and barely ANY spindle marks AT ALL!!!! IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT THIS RECORD HAS BARELY BEEN PLAYED AT ALL!!!! The vinyl is in SUPERB condition!!!! Most of these 60s/70s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is NOT and has NO scratches, NO hairlines, NO scufflines, NO bag sweat marks AT ALL (most do!), and only some very VERY light general paper scuffing only visible under light (this is the VERY lightest paper scuffing only - and simply from sitting inside the inner sleeve for many years!)!!!! It is also great to find that the playing of the record is as STUNNING as the visual!!!! It plays with NO pops, NO sticking, NO jumps, and barely ANY crackle AT ALL!!!! The sound quality is simply SUPERB with NO distortion and NO groovewear either!!!! The record must grade Excellent(Minus) if not better!!!! SUPERB RECORD!!!! Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!! I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!! The record also comes in its ORIGINAL 1st Press Inner sleeve which is in SUPERB condition!!!! EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE ULTRA RARE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESS INSERTS & 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESS 'MARQUEE' POSTER ARE IN ABSOLUTELY SUPERB CONDITION - WITH NO DAMAGE AT ALL!!!! The ORIGINAL 1st Press Gatefold 'Blue Printed' Thicker Cover is in absolutely SUPERB condition - and one of the BEST I have EVER seen!!!! It has NO edge wear, NO spinal wear, only VERY slight corner wear, NO splits, NO rips, NO rubbing, NO ringwear, NO grubbyness AT ALL, PERFECT Blue print, NO yellowing, only a VERY few light creases (cover is VERY flat looking indeed!), NO sticker tears, only 2 or 3 MICROSCOPIC dot traces on the cover back (these are NOT ink marks - simply part of the cardboard from manufacture!), NO sticker marks, and NO writing!!!! The opening edges are is beautifully straight with barely ANY feathering AT ALL!!!! BOTH staples are in 100% PERFECT condition with NO rust and they have NEVER been removed or restapled!!!! Even the inside of the cover is in SUPERB condition with NO grubbyness, NO writing, NO rubbing, PERFECT blue print, NO ringwear, NO yellowing, and BOTH pouches on either side are in PERFECT condition with NO damage AT ALL!!!! Even the staples are COMPLETELY UNSTRESSED and 100% firmly in place has they have been from NEW!!!! The cover must grade Excellent+ if not better - and this is the very first time EVER, that I have been able to happily put an Excellent+ grading anywhere NEAR this cover!!!! SUPERB COVER!!!! THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND LIKE THIS - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS AMAZING OPPORTUNITY!!!!
