Description
On offer here is a very rare LP (especially in this condition!!!!) by The Who called 'Live At Leeds' and is a MASSIVELY rare 1970 Stereo 1st Pressing on 1st Press Track label!!!! THIS IS EXTREMELY RARE AS A 1ST PRESSING!!!! GENIUNE 1ST PRESSINGS OF THIS LP ARE VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND - AND ARE VERY DIFFERENT TO LATER PRESSINGS!!!! THESE 1ST PRESSINGS WERE ONLY EVER PRESSED FOR A VERY VERY SMALL AMOUNT OF TIME - AND FINDING A GENIUNE 1970 1ST PRESSING THESE DAYS IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE!!!! THERE IS SOME VERY IMPORTANT DIFFERENCES - WHICH IDENTIFY THIS LP AS A 1ST PRESSING!!!! FIRSTLY (AND MOST OBVIOUSLY) THE GATEFOLD COVER HAS THE RAREST (AND EARLIEST) 'BLACK' PRINT ON THE COVER FRONT - AND THIS CAME BEFORE THE MORE COMMON RED OR BLUE PRINT. SECONDLY THE MATRIX ENDINGS ON THE RECORD ARE A//1 B//1!!!! THE VAST MAJORITY OF COPIES OF THIS LP THAT TURN UP - ARE A//3 B//3 - AND ARE LATER PRESSINGS. FINDING A 1ST PRESSING OF THIS LP WITH A//1 B//1 MATRIX ENDINGS IS VERY RARE INDEED!!!! THIRDLY THERE IS SOME VERY IMPORTANT DIFFERENCES IN THE INSERTS!!!! THIS EARLIEST 1ST PRESSING HAS THE COMPLETE SET OF INSERTS (INCLUDING THE 'MARQUEE' POSTER), - BUT THERE ARE 3 INSERTS OUT OF THE 12 THAT ARE VERY DIFFERENT TO LATER PRESSINGS!!!! I HAVE TAKEN A CLOSE-UP PICTURE OF THESE THREE TO SHOW THE VERY IMPORTANT DIFFERENCES!!!! FIRSTLY - BOTH THE 'PREMIER TALENTS' INSERT AND THE 'HIGH NUMBERS CONCERT DATES/FEES' INSERTS SHOULD BOTH BE ON YELLOW PAPER (LATER ONES ARE WHITE). HOWEVER THE RAREST INSERT TO FIND AS AN ORIGINAL 1ST PRESSING INSERT IS THE SMALL 'OVERHEAD GUITAR' PICTURE!!!! ON THE REVERSE OF THIS PICTURE THERE IS SOME 'HAND WRITTEN' LYRICS (SEE PICTURE) - AND ON THE VERY 1ST PRESSING THESE ARE REPRODUCED IN THE CORRECT 'BLUE' BIRO - WHEREAS ON ALL LATER PRESSINGS THIS IS RE-PRODUCED IN BLACK. IT IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND THIS INSERT IN ITS 'TRUE' ORIGINAL 1ST PRESS STATE!!!! THESE MAY BE SMALL DIFFERENCES - BUT PUT ALTOGETHER THESE ARE VERY IMPORTANT IN SHOWING A GENIUNE 1970 1ST PRESSING!!!! INTERESTINGLY IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THE INSERTS STILL HAVE THEIR ORIGINAL 'POLYTHENE' PACKET THAT THE INSERTS ORIGINALLY CAME IN!!!! IT IS INCREDIBLY RARE TO FIND THIS LP AS A GENIUNE 1970 1ST PRESSING - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS MEGA RARE OPPORTUNITY!!!! This is the ORIGINAL Track Stereo 1st pressing from 1970 and is in BRILLIANT condition!!!! The record is pressed on THICK quality vinyl. The Cat. No is 2406 001 on the ORIGINAL 1st Press Track 'custom' labels (see picture) and is a UK Stereo 1st Pressing!!!! All the tracks are pure quality Who at their best!!!! Any fan of The Who, or 60s/70s music in general, will want to have this in their collection!!!!
The record labels on the record are in STUNNING condition (see pictures) with NO wear, NO writing, and only a few light spindle marks!!!! The vinyl is in BRILLIANT condition!!!! Most of these 60s/70s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is NOT and has NO scratches, 2 or 3 light hairlines, and only a few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!!!! THE RECORD STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK!!!! It is great to find that the record plays as STUNNINGLY as the visual with NO pops, NO sticking, NO jumps, NO hiss and barely ANY crackle AT ALL (apart from the crackle that is supposed to be there from the original 'live' recording - on the label it is printed 'Crackling noises - Do Not Correct' - so clearly some crackle was part of the original live recording.)!!!! There is NO distortion and NO groovewear either!!!! The record must grade Very Good++++ if not better!!!! Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!! I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!! The record also comes in its ORIGINAL inner!!!! THE MEGA RARE COMPLETE SET OF THE EARLIEST 1ST PRESS 12 INSERTS (& POSTER) - ARE IN STUNNING CONDITION AND STILL HAVE THEIR ORIGINAL 'POLYTHENE' PACKET!!!! The 1st Press Gatefold RAREST 'Black Print' MacNeill Press Cover is in GREAT condition!!!! It has NO edge wear, NO spinal wear, only VERY slight corner wear, only a few light creases (cover is still flat looking), and NO writing!!!! The opening edges are beautifully straight with NO feathering!!!! The staples are firmly in place and NOT rusty!!!! Even the inside is in STUNNING condition with NO writing, NO grubbyness, NO rips, NO rubbing and NO yellowing!!!! The cover is essentially a GREAT conditioned cover - though it does have some typical general light yellowing towards the edges, and 2 or 3 TINY areas of faint discolouration. This cover is far FAR better than most which turn up - and is VERY hard to find like this (and even rarer with Black Print on the cover front!!!!). It is VERY hard to find this cover with unworn edges, and in this sort of condition, and it must grade Very Good+ if not better!!!! THIS LP IS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND AS A 1ST PRESSING - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS MEGA RARE OPPORTUNITY!!!!
HAVE A LOOK AT MY PICTURES - I DO MY BEST TO SHOW THE RECORD FROM ALL ANGLES AND MAKE THE PICTURES AS CLEAR AS POSSIBLE - THERE IS NOTHING TO HIDE!!!! It really is a GREAT looking LP and it is truly rare to find any copies of this MEGA RARE LP!!!! THIS WILL BE YOUR ONLY CHANCE TO BUY A 1970 STEREO 'COMPLETE' 1ST PRESSING OF "LIVE AT LEEDS" BY THE WHO, IN BRILLIANT CONDITION!!!!
