Description
I have collected records since I was very young, however Iincreasingly I have realised that I have far too many, and soI have been slowly trying to rationalise my extensive collection over the years, I have sold many major rarities over the years, from major BEATLES and 60s rarities, through PUNK and PROG ROCK, CLASSICAL and BLUES. Basically I've had alot of very rare records and in dribs and drabs have sold them off. I've never had negative feedback, and had many repeat customers.
I will only post completely insured and tracked.
Here we have the very rarest and very first UK issue of The Who's first release on REACTION, SUBSTITUTE. This version was only available for a few days, (some say a day!) where Robert Stigwood's REACTION released the WHO's Substitute, Brunswick who THE WHO were signed to started a legal battle, which forced them to withdraw this single, then initially reissue it with the much more common "Instant Party" naming of the B-side,before being withdrawn yet again and the the B-side being replaced by "Waltz For A Pig" by "The Who Orchestra" (Actually the inimitable Graham Bond Organisation, also Stigwood clients). This is by far the rarest UK issue of this single and rarely turns up for sale, this also is a lovely playing copy to boot!
Condition: Record: VG+ A few light surface marks and hairlines,but nothing to interfere with the audio. Lovely strong audio! Labels: The all important B-side label is in VG+ condition, free from graffitti, abbrasions, tears etc,just a very slight discolouration/thumb-print or somesuch thing,near the central spindle hole. The A-side has a slight sticker residue stain, and also subtle pen lines on the push-out centre,other than that, very nice aswell!
