We have come across a large collection of promotional 45's and other rare records from about forty years ago. They are from the estate of a TV/Movie Producer who had connections with MGM Records - a division of Metro Goldwyn Mayer Inc. Most are marked "Not for Sale" or "Promotional" or "Special Disc Jockey Record". They were played and used when new, but have been in climate and humidity controlled storage for 32 years. They were all very well kept and stored. They are in wonderful condition. I will note any defects that I find upon examining them. So unless noted, they are in awesome condition. But feel free to ask for more details. I am not a record guy so this may take time as I bumble through this research/listing process. Over the next several weeks, I will put up more as time allows. I will certainly answer any questions. I am sure that I have left out information. So help me help you and ask away. This one is The Wailers doing I Don't Want To Follow You and I'm Determined. It is on the VIVA label and is marked promotion copy, not for sale, V-614. There is a black marker X on the Follow side. There is a black marker / and an ink / on the Determined side.

The Wailers were an American rock band from Tacoma, Washington. Formed around 1958, they are often considered the first garage rock group. They performed a hybrid of saxophone-driven R&B and Chuck Berry rock and roll.[1]

Five 45s (four released in 1959, including "Tall Cool One", and one in 1960) and an LP release, The Fabulous Wailers (released December 1959 on Golden Crest Records), put the Wailers on the national scene. Their 1961 cover of "Louie Louie", which they recorded as a backing band for singer Rockin' Roberts, was the first to use the trademark 1-2-3, 1-2, 1-2-3 riff.[2] Their version inspired other groups from the Seattle area, most notably the Kingsmen of Portland, Oregon, to record the same song. The Wailers' influence established the Pacific Northwest area as a center for musical innovation and the home of a long string of regional favorites playing a kind of raunchy, amateur, yet passionate, form of rock and roll.[citation needed]

The Wailers' song, "Out of Our Tree", was featured in the Nuggets: Original Artyfacts From the First Psychedelic Era collection.
