This is an original UNITED KINGDOM first pressing of THE VELVET UNDERGROUND AND NICO by THE VELVET UNDERGROUND. It was released on VERVE records in 1967 and this is the STEREO issue. Now recognized as one of the greatest and certainly the most influential album ever made. Also known as the LP that launched a thousand bands it is said that all those who bought this album on its release back in 67 went on to become famous.
The condition of this 50 year old record is absolutely INCREDIBLE. Best I have ever seen by far ! The front laminated flip back sleeve is as close to mint as possible. The front and back are spotlessly clean . All corners are sharp and the spine is TOTALLY IMMACULATE perfectly square and all spinal writings are as clear as the day this gem was made. The original inner sleeve is here and it is flawless. This sleeve has to grade MINT MINUS.
Side ONE. I can only see 2 very lite spindle trails and the beautiful VERVE black and silver typeset is in STUNNING condition. As is the vinyl just STUNNING. I can only find 2 of the lightest hairlines on all of this side. These were from the paper inner and not from a stylus. This record has the highest luster sheen possible this record glows when the light catches it. It looks like a time capsule piece. INCREDIBLE. Side one is MINT MINUS.
Side TWO. The label again is TOTALLY STUNNING I can see only one really light spindle trail, again the label is as close to mint as possible. The vinyl to this side is as good as side one. I would guess this record has been played no more than a handful of times or even less. It looks like a new record and this side is also in pristine condition. The vinyl grades MINT MINUS. To find an original UNITED KINGDOM FIRST PRESSING of this rare , RARE album is not easy. They dont come along very often. In 40 years of collecting I have never seen a UK copy of this ground breaking LP in anything like the condition we have here. The condition we have here is worthy of your best bid ! This has to be a final upgrade !

All my records are housed in Mobile Fidelity Mastering Sleeves. This prevents further paper scuffs marking the vinyl when removing the record from the original inner sleeve and prolongs the condition of the original inner sleeve .
I have been asked a few times why does this sleeve not have
a peelable banana . The only Velvet Underground and Nico LPs to have the gate fold Peelable Banana Jacket are from the USA. THIS IS AN ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING FROM THE UNITED KINGDOM. This was NEVER issued with a gate fold or Peelable banana jacket. Only a STANDARD FRONT LAMINATED NONE GATE FOLD FLIP BACK SLEEVE. Although the USA jacket is more aesthetically pleasing on the eye. This sleeve is very special.Double click the pictures and look at the front and back of the sleeve. The front laminate has kept the colours vibrant and stunning. Look to the edges on the back of the sleeve, see the fold over flip back edge. That`s a sign of the times and dates this item. Its how we engineered the manufacture of records in the 60s and early 70s here in England and what made us the envy of the world in this field. They dont make em like this any more. Another industry we let slide away. Another intrinsic value to this is its EXTREME RARITY. THIS IS THE UK FIRST ORIGINAL PRESSING FROM 1967. Much MUCH RARER than the USA with the gate fold banana sleeve. And in condition like this , YOU WOULD BE HARD PRESSED TO FIND A BETTER COPY !!!!price rating
