LP 1st UK Press - Verve ( mono ) VLP9187 1967
A mega rare mono pressing of one of the most iconic, influential albums of all time. Every Velvets head knows mono is the only acceptable way to hear this gem, and the UK pressing is probably the best way to get a mono 60’s pressing without dipping into the 4 figure range that US pressings go for.

There seems to be either an “R” or “B” stamped in each side as well.
Vinyl is clean. A strong VG, with some light scratches, though none deep enough to feel or drastically affect play. Could pass for VG+ in some parts. Play grading it, there is some surface noise that’s apparent in the quiet parts, but nothing overpowering. It never becomes more than a background crackle.
The cover looks to be a VG as well, with lots of creasing, and some wrinkles in the lamination, but no tears or rips. “S. Nichols” was kind enough to write his or her name in the upper right hand corner on the back.
Overall this is a fine play copy, and will certainly get you your mono VU fix as you patiently wait to stumble across a NM/NM West Coast pressing with unpeeled banana at a garage sale.
