Description
THIS IS THE SPANISH ORIGINAL MONO PRESSING on GUERSSEN Records. IN SHRINK SINGLE COVER + FOLDOUT INSERT + HYPE STICKER. The cover is in EX condition: normal wear and without any major deterioration BUT light discolouration/wear on right corners (where missing shrink), left spine is fully readable; INSERT in great condition but mild creases; for details see photos. The vinyl is in EX/NM condition [barely played] and plays wonderfully.

THE TROPICS
A revered St. Petersburg/Tampa, Florida outfit, also known as Chipper, whose members would go on to outfits including White Witch and Bacchus. Their finest moment is probably the stunning As Time's Gone, a dangerous punker, punctuated by a strange 'whoop'. It is one of Florida's finest contributions to the genre. They were obviously a diverse act, as their previous 45, For A Long Time verges on Byrds/Beatles influenced folk rock.
I Want More, from their debut, is a fuzzy Invasion-flavoured stomper. The liner notes to Psychedelic States - Florida Vol. 2 (CD) reveal that the group had already cut several demos including Solomon Burke's Stupidity and that an earlier incarnation of the band had released a limited press LP (details unknown).
Dave Burke left The Tropics to join The Standells. The Fuzztones later covered As Time's Gone on their Lysergic Emanations LP...(Fuzz Acid & Flowers)
