THE SYNDICATS–JOE MEEK’S"MAYBELLENE"Orig.Columbia UK 7"
Steve Howe’s first released single (1964) with his band The Syndicats, produced by Joe Meek, is a now mega-rare freakbeat classic. Columbia UK 7-inch single, DB 7238, features Chuck Berry’s "Maybellene" complete with Meek’s trademark echo effect, coupled with "True To Me".
The disc is in fabulous shiny condition. We have listened very carefully to "Maybellene" and could detect no audible fault from 2 very light scratches. There are no visible marks on "True To Me". It really is amazing to find such a rarity in such brilliant condition.
The disc comes in the original green Columbia sleeve which is excellent & intact with light creasing, with "184" written in
ink on front top-right corner.
