My adulation for ..i have to write this little piece about ..the wonderful Sundays . I came late to them ( take it from me i'm sick enough about that as i never got to see them!) when i listed this record ( i have ALL my OWN Sundays stuff by the way!)... i hated to state "indie" and "shoe-pop-folk" and the like and i even more despise them being lumped with other talentless & well known feeble indie outfits who shall remain nameless .They were just a Great band , full stop. Me, I'm a rocker really but a chance hearing some years ago struck something BIG with me and it wasn't just Harriet Wheeler ! The songs are so brilliant ...brilliantly written and performed , i recognized David Gavurin as a special talent in the songwriting / rhythm guitar capacity ,(some of his stuff is so intricate and well-structured. His is Not the output of your average feeble"indie" guitar strum-dummy!! the rhythm section also very adept and professional . To me they have a unique ethereal and spiritual presence to their music . To my ears there are NO 'filler' songs on any of the 3 beautiful albums they released . I love them all .... most of all i LOVE 'Gone' from one of the 'Summertime' EP singles ..and 'She' is also none of my favorite absolute songs ...ever . Gavurin and Wheeler owned a property not a million miles from me , i've bumped into one or both a couple of times in past years ...i was too overawed and starstruck to even say hello ..my legs became jelly ... i love their music , it's Very Special .
Thank you very much for taking the time to read .
